Hulbert House is a beautifully restored Victorian villa dating back to 1888. Steeped in authentic history, Hulbert House offers you a distinctive combination of historic elegance and contemporary service. Hulbert House offers a luxury, boutique accommodation experience suitable for all discerning travellers. Each of the six stunning suites has a truly independent personality and each is named after a prominent individual in the Homesteads history. Reviews for Hulbert House
One of my absolute favorite places to stay in NewZealand. Such warm and caring hosts who made our stay that much more special. An elegantly refined hotel/house with lovely decor and a wonderfully inviting vibe. We’ll definitely return!

This is the personification of boutique luxury accommodation. It is beautifully restored, and a lovely place to stay in Queenstown with great views, and personal service of the highest level. We stayed in a Grand suite on the ground floor which afforded us a lovely view of the lake and mountains. It is a nice quiet spot, and yet only a few minutes walk into the Queenstown town centre. We loved our stay at Hulbert House, and will definitely aim to stay here the next time we visit Queenstown.

From the welcome on arrival to the goodbye on our leaving this was a special visit. We stayed for 4 nights in this wonderfully refurbished hotel. Our room had the most amazing view of the lake and mountains even when lying on the bed. The room was well appointed with a huge bathroom and walk in shower. The mangers, a wonderful young couple do everything in their power to make your stay very special. Evening drinks with canapés, breakfast and concierge services were provided with a friendly and caring attitude by every member of staff. I wish this wonderful young couple and their staff every happiness for their future.

This was the most extraordinary bed and breakfast I have ever been to. All the charm, friendliness, and personality of a B & B, but with the luxuries in modern amenities, personalized service, cuisine, and decor that you might receive at the best of small luxury hotels. This house represents a loving and meticulous restoration that preserves beautiful historical details, while modernizing so as to pose no inconvenience to guests. The highlights of our room included: its view, its decor (opulent and charming by turns), its exquisitely comfortable bed and linens, and a fabulous rainfall showerhead. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful; you can tell that they genuinely love their work. One of the most enjoyable aspects of our stay: one of the most exquisite, extensive, and personalized breakfasts I’ve ever seen. Something for everyone from families to gourmands, from an array of local specialties (choose from four kinds of local honey!) to a menu of hot dishes and drinks made to order, from simple to sophisticated. Truly a dream vacation.

On a hill overlooking downtown Queenstown, the Hulbert House is in a league of it’s own. This very special Victorian villa was creatively restored and with no money spared. Colorful wallpapers and art cover the walls. The six rooms are oversized and have beautiful views of the town, the lake and sunsets. One of the things that sets Hulbert House apart is the outstanding management team of Jay and Jade. They are friendly, helpful, efficient, knowledgeable and a joy to be around. Drinks and house made canapés are served in the evening and a wonderful breakfast is part of the morning routine. There is always a tray of freshly made snacks available in the lounge. Hulbert House is a treat! The only downside may be the walk to town….downhill on the way there and straight uphill on the way home after dinner. Taxis are easily available for those that don’t want to make the trek back uphill.
