This was our sixth stay at Millbrook. Essentially, the things that keep drawing us back remain the same. Disappointingly for us, the facilities are much busier and getting a round of golf as a couple on our own was no longer possible. There was something special about being able to play the fairways and admire the scenery as a married couple making memories. The on course restaurants are a highlight, particularly the Clubhouse breakfast, Kobe Cuising Japanese and the Millhouse for a special dinner. However there is increasing strong competition from the recently opened Ayrburn precinct.

Loved our two days at Millbrook. Everything was lovely, the staff the accommodation, the grounds, the facilities. Will definitely visit again and definitely recommend it to others.

We have been coming to Millbrook for several years and we have to say this Resort is outstanding. From the Front Desk to Room service I have not had any better experience overall. Our Deluxe Suite was spotless and we had great views of the Golf Course. The New complex layout certainly made this Resort so user friendly. It can be expensive but you pay for what you get . We only had time to go two restaurants during our three day Play and Stay deal but excellent quality. The Both 18 hole golf courses were impressive and well maintained although the Coronet can be quite Windy and you would need a Cart . Most certainly we will be going back soonest. Best time we think is early March as the weather is more settled .

We booked a two night stay in a deluxe room at the Millbrook Resort. This resort markets itself as a five star exclusive resort set on the venue for the NZ Open. It boosts 4 restaurants, 2 of which are fine dining. Kobe a Japanese restaurant and the Millhouse. The Millhouse does not open on Tuesdays, there is no mention of this on their website. Kobe was booked out and appears to be so for at least the next month. This leaves the Hole in One cafe which is essentially pub grub and Smithy's smokehouse which is a hatch that you queue at and order a drink, it also serves bar bites. Amazingly the Golf course clubhouse serves neither food or drink during the day. The resort lacks even a relaxing bar synonymous with other upscale golf resorts. This left us with no option for a fine dining expirience or any suitable alternative at the resort. We had a lovely meal in Cave, a Japanese restaurant in Arrowtown off resort. Recommended by a resort staff member. We attended the pool area of the resort, the website says it consists of one hot pool and 2 spa pools. The first pool was covered in insects and the spa pool was closed with a workman carrying out works including drilling on it. The swimming pool is reserved for lane swimming only and was being used at the time for swimming lessons. We complained to management who stated we should have booked restaurant reservations before out visit. Again it should be stated on their website that prior restaurant reservations are essential. Check in staff and other resort staff were extremely helpful, including suggesting restaurants off resort. The room itself was excellent. As a result of the above we did'nt try the Spa, fitness centre or golf course and as such would be unfair to comment on same. This is not by any means a five star resort.
