Avani Quy Nhon Resort & Spa in Quy Nhon, Vietnam

Avani Quy Nhon Resort & Spa is a restful, exotic alternative to Southeast Asia’s beach scene. Nestled among age-old fishing villages, there’s ample opportunity for cultural exploration. Fish with a local in the nearby freshwater lake after a hike through dense vegetation inhabited by flying squirrels and monkeys, or soak up the area’s fascinating history through visits to Cham temples and pagodas. Rooms are warmly appointed, with intricate ironwork and exposed brick accents complementing sea views.

Rent a bicycle and pedal leisurely to a neighboring village. Stroll through the bustling marketplace. Make friends with a resident fruit vendor and try something you’ve never seen before – maybe it’s a sweet, protein-rich longan, which used to be given as a tribute to the king. Indulge in a massage in an open-air pavilion back at the hotel. Fall asleep to the sound of waves hitting the shore.

It pains me to write this review as I am a thai resident who has gone to many Avani and Anantara Resorts. Quy Nhon is well designed, offers great views, and the rooms are splendid. The Food and Beverage Manager needs to pay more attention to his staff as they are not very good at all. Had a caipirinia at the bar, it was so small and tasted so bad it was undrinkable. Contained just lemon juice and a splash of alcohol. Food in the restaurant all arrived at the same time, meaning many of the dishes were left under the warming light and came out cold. Many dishes were extremely bland and had no flavor as if the chef doesn’t even taste test his own food. I even left my room key behind, walked around to look for it for 10 mins only to find out the receptionist had it the whole time. The resort had very few guests, it would have taken 30 seconds for staff to give me the key. This resort failed on so many levels it became a running joke amongst my travel mates. Its bad enough that the road in front of the resort is littered with trash, there’s no excuse for the beach to be full of litter. It takes 2 staff to walk around in the morning to clean the beach. The GM needs to pay more attention to details to ensure the staff know what they are doing before the resort gets a bad reputation. Kind of seems the resort doesn’t even have a GM. As a Discovery Gold Member, I am truly shocked and disappointed in management. I don’t blame the staff, they are only as good as their Managers. As the brochure in the room says, “It’s all in the details.”

Fantastic location and great for a young family. Beach was very clean but surrounding areas could be cleaner. Food was great, rooms were great, massage was great! Overall we were very happy and will return.

Just to remember that I only wanted to stay one night. But in familiar atmosphere and natural staff, room with all necessary amenities i couldnt resist. 2 days, 2 Nights. My alarm clock was set up for 5.30 h. An amazing sunrise from the balcony. A wonderful cayaking (complimentary) into the sea as sporty morning. Spa could be a bit cheaper. Food in the restaurant very tasty. Close to the Spot another construction, hopefully it will not destroy the amazing peaceful and clean beach with its wonderful scenery... I would come back soon.

A real gem of a place in the most beautiful setting. The rooms are lovely, the staff attentive. The place is spotless. The perfect place to unwind. The only downside is the piped music which is on a loop! The restaurant menu is very extensive and good quality
