this hotel has ups and downs...small room but with a lot of character...breakfast is the best with the views over the cathedral and fantastic food. The breakfast staff is outstanding...the reception one need to improve. Perfect location, park inside and forget about your car during your stay...I liked it a lot!!

We stayed here one day as a respite. It was regal and charming in both design and appearance. The room was wonderful and the bathroom was the best we've had on our long trip. Michaela was fantastic with suggestions both for Ragusa and for our travel route and stops along our way. Wanted to use the spa which looked great but no time. The hotel is part of a chain that looks spectacular. San Maurizio 1619 is the chain. Worth a look.

What a treat this was. A lovely old Palazzo in a great location. We were independent travellers and found the trip to Ibla straightforward (mostly downhill), 10-15 minutes from the rail station & 15+ minutes to the bus station. A small hotel (I think there were less than 12 rooms) where the staff were excellent. Only downside was perhaps the breakfast (I've never experienced cold scrambled egg & sausage before!). Highly recommended and good value....cheaper than our 4 star hotels in both Siracusa and Taormina.

Great location. Hotel is in an old building, but has some parking available (a huge bonus in this hilly town). No restaurant or bar. Lovely room, but no comfortable seating. Good bathroom. Really helpful staff with good language skills.

This hotel is situated in the very heart of Ragusa. We could park our car on the courtyard of the hotel. As we were the only guests on an Autumn day, the hotel felt a bit empty and cold, but on a busy Summer day it must be warm and cozy. The hotel is situated in a historic building. The interior tries to imitate this history, but is not really from those times, and this unfortunately shows - honestly the interior looks a little bit weird. We had the royal suite, which should be the best room. The room is large (and you enter the room immediately, no hallway). There is limited furniture in the room, which makes it feel somewhat empty and cold. In general you expect a sitting area and a sleeping area in a suite, but here you only have one room (and a separate bathroom). In the bathroom is only a sink and a bath with jacuzzi, no separate shower. To use the shower you have to sit in bath and hold the shower head in your hands above your head. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. A bottle of Prosecco was waiting upon arrival. Staff showed us directions to a nearby excellent tratoria (Da Luigi) - go there one evening! Breakfast was well. A second time, I would try the junior suite.
