This Oberoi hotel is even nicer than the one we previously experienced in Agra. Located on many acres, the hotel is spread out and features different kinds of rooms--some are "tent rooms," which are quite luxurious; others are cottage-style rooms, with many amenities. All rooms at ground level--no stairs or elevators. Excellent service. Again appreciated the Oberoi tipping policy--tips to individuals are discouraged in favor of contribution to staff fund at the end of the stay.

Don't even hesitate to book this hotel. It is worth the price. This is laid out like a palace with beautiful gardens, fountains and a 300-year old temple in the center. For beautiful views, climb the stairs to the top of the temple, especially at sunrise. The cottages are sprinkled around the large area of the hotel. You'll enjoy the flock of peacocks that make their home here. Breakfast was included in our stay and staff cannot do enough for you. Absolutely lovely! I especially loved the gorgeous bed. Our room was quite large with a bathroom that faced a private courtyard. There is ample bottled water and many small amenities available in the room. Universal outlets are available at the desk and bedside. The hotel has a no-tipping policy which means that all services are included in the cost of the room, including luggage pickup and drop off, which will be required, depending on the location of your cottage/room. Tipping at the end is optional but certainly well earned. While there, we saw several groups on buses, but the hotel never, ever felt crowded or "touristy."

We stayed in a luxury tent, which was romantic and roomy. Windows surround the tent and staff draw them closed at dusk. The tent is set back from the path, so that you are in your own enclave with patio and peacocks. The bathroom is accessed through curtains and we loved it. But it would not be ideal if you are newlyweds seeking privacy while doing ablutions, etc. Our room was a good walking distance to the restaurant and lobby. We enjoyed the walk through the grounds. But when we were in a hurry, we summoned a buggy that picked us up and whisked us away. Breakfast is fantastic. Staff are superb. Watch out for the rain of rose petals when you first arrive!

This was our 2nd hotel on our trip to India. Having stayed at the ultra modern Oberoi Gurgaon we had now moved on to Jaipur and Rajvilas which was a complete contrast in style but not in quality. We were warmly welcomed and immediately felt at home. The hotel is stunning and the grounds are immaculate. Once again the staff lived up to the previous reviews here. Everything is so peaceful and relaxing after a day of sightseeing. We enjoyed both restaurants, Rajmahal especially was a lovely fine dining experience with a few surprises, thanks in particular to Maheep! By this stage we were both eating Indian dishes for breakfast and needed some help with our choices and this was instantly forthcoming. Special mention to Abhishek the General Manager who was always interacting with the guests and checking that we were happy with our stay. We did not see everything we wanted to in Jaipur and when we return we will certainly stay here!
