Reviews for Terranea Resort
My husband and I spent one night at Terranea for our anniversary. We had a very nice time. The grounds are stunning with a lot of space to walk around and enjoy the unique location. The staff was friendly and helpful. However, I wasn't impressed with the massage at the onsite spa.
If you are looking for someplace quiet to go along with your $550+ per night room rate, don't come here. It's a beautiful setting, with a nicely appointed room but the only "quiet" pool costs extra to access. The "adults only" pool is a daytime party scene with club music and drunk twenty something's, and the 13 and up pool (the recommended next best option) also has piped in pop music playing everywhere- we we're so lucky that we can even hear this generic top 40 annoyance from the balcony in our room, so even my $550+ per night room doesn't provide a place of outdoor serenity from which to enjoy the amazing view and ocean breezes. Certain, in my opinion, standard details, for a resort of this price and size are also overlooked, such as every single gate (remember there are 3, free access pools, each with blaring music) - several per pool with constant guest utilization- lacks a mechanism to keep it from slamming shut every time it's opened. So at peak times that's about one slammed gate per every 30 seconds. It's kind of a joke. The family aspect I get and they do it well, but for everyone else, forget it! Additionally, the remote location of this hotel essentially forces you to stay on property, but they do not have enough dinning capacity it seems to accommodate a fully booked hotel as we're we're denied a reservation for dinner at any of the dinner restaurants over a two night period. I'm only on the first of a 3 night stay but will never return-if I even make it through the weekend.
