My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our one night staycation at the inn. We asked ahead for an early checkin and upon arrival around noon were able to access our room within minutes. The valet guys were very friendly and helpful when we showed up and directed us to checkin. I highly recommend getting a cottage room. It was private and tucked away from the main resorts rooms. The bathroom was superb with a huge tub and large rainfall shower. The patio off the room had an outdoor fireplace and table and umbrella to hang out. The food at the restaurant was phenomenal. Make sure you get the candy bar dessert. The pool was nice but didn't offer service unless you went to the bar inside or called from a phone by the pool. The grounds were in great shape and very lush and green. Come checkout time we were not ready to leave. We will definitely go back to the inn and stay for a few more days next time around. No complaints! Friendly staff all around at this quiet, relaxing, quaint getaway.

Rather than a large impersonal hotel, the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe is a collection of small buildings nestled in the middle of nature, a golf course and walking distance to Rancho Santa Fe with its shops and restaurants. It feel like a large hacienda and the staff is very helpful and attentive. The last few times my colleagues and I stayed at the Inn, Maureen Dean at the front desk took excellent care of us - thank you Maureen! The restaurant and bar are excellent, with a large terrace, cozy dining room and bar with great bartenders - pay them a visit when in the area whether you stay at the Inn or not.

This hotel is set apart from all of the other hotels in the area. It sits on several rolling acres and the rooms are like mini villas with patios and decks. Some of the rooms are almost a 100 years old. My room was very spacious with a fireplace and a deck. Housekeeping did a fabulous job cleaning my room. The restaurant which is in the main building, is where you can see the history of the place. While I was here they held an event for Easter. This was such a pleasant surprise! The front lawn was set up with tables and a fabulous buffet. The hotel had entertainment to keep the kids entertained as well as an Easter egg hunt. I also was lucky enough to get a reservation at The Spa. Had a facial with Heather. She was wonderful. Look forward a visit again soon!

The main area w/ lobby, dining area is beautiful, welcoming and comfortable. Our room was only a short distance, a few minute walk from it. There was complementary coffee in the morning and the workout area was small but well equipped. The staff was lovely and made us feel very welcomed. It is very close to the city square, so it was an easy walk Zout the front doors and then around the area. The room was comfortable and spacious and the bathroom was also roomy and easy for two people to share. There is a refrigerator in the room and complementary water. Great experience.

We used to always love the Inn but this current visit has prompted us to cancel our future reservation here next month and we'll never return again. The setting is still beautiful, the lady that helped us at check-in was very courteous and the rooms appear nice but it's the cleanliness and house keeping that has caused many issues for us during this stay. We are a family with 3 rooms and we have all experienced issues during the last four days. The first issue is the insect problem in the rooms. One family member found 2 silverfish bugs crawling in his bed on the first night. He disposed of them himself and then notified the front desk. We thought this was a one off until I awoke the other night at about 2:00 am to something crawling on my face. I instinctively smacked my face and smashed whatever it was. When I got my whits about me and turned on the light, there was a not so small smashed dead spider next to me. They obviously have an insect problem that needs to be seriously addressed. (In case anyone is wondering, I never once set foot on the patio or left a door or window open for these things to easily find their way inside). Once again, the front desk was notified but I'm not sure if anything has been done since I notified them. On to the next issue, the housekeeping at this hotel has been virtually non existent. You used to always receive complimentary bottles of water in the rooms each day. The past 2 days, the house keeper has conveniently forgot to replenish the bottles of water. One thing she has left in the room though is an old half drunk glass of water left over from room service 3 nights ago. I'm not sure if they have quit providing water or not but it was always a very welcome amenity. The next main housekeeping issue is dirty towels. Not wanting to overburden themselves like with the bottled water, the housekeepers have been refolding our dirty towels and placing them in the bathroom like they are new. We left our dirty towels on the floor after we finished using them but had suspicions that the towels were just being refolded and set back on the counters each day when housekeeping came. Finally today, we are 100% sure that the dirty towels left on the floor this morning have not been changed out for new ones after housekeeping came later today. Gross!!! Who knows what else in the room hasn't been cleaned properly or replaced... The final straw was some dry cleaning we dropped off at the front desk this morning. It was never sent out today to be cleaned even though it was dropped off 25 minutes before the 8:30 am deadline. It was a Thursday so laundry was available; it wasn't a weekend or a holiday or anything where It might be closed. Luckily we had planned on checking out tomorrow to switch to a different hotel anyways so we can get things cleaned there instead. Bottom line, this place could not try any harder to make our stay unpleasant. We've stayed here multiple times in the past but we will never return again. I'm not sure if The Inn is under new management or ownership but save the headache and book at The Grand, Rancho Valencia or L'Auberge instead.
