The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful room, lovely village. Our first room was dark and had an overwhelming odor of smoke from the fireplace. Luckily they moved us to room 201 which was beautiful, I think it might be the one on the LL photo. It is right across from the spa, light, bright and big. The beds are really cozy and the room was immaculate with great robes and shampoos etc. It was also nice to have a fridge for your own food/drinks. I would do some homework with the help from reservations on your room and location. It seems a lot of rooms are overlooking a parking lot or maintenance building and that would not be ideal. Rancho Santa Fe is quite sleepy but nice to stroll through but be prepared to have a car to get to the beach or shops etc. We ate way too many meals at the hotel but I have to say, their food is excellent. Although they were not unfriendly to kids, I would say that it isn't a great place for kids. There isn't much for them to do besides the pool. There are no cards or board games, no lending library etc. I also would like to see water offered in the public spaces. Being southern California you get thirsty and I felt like I had to ask the bar for water when it could simply be offered in the lobby. They are experiencing a few bumps along the road but overall it was a beautiful stay for sure with an outgoing and helpful staff. This would be a great place to go for a romantic break to unplug and unwind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Inn and surroundings When we first checked in -the girl at the front desk did not give us any information about the Inn. Pool tennis courts etc. Other places to see and do in area. We drove to our place. It was awful. I called her and asked for another room. she said fully booked and that is what we paid for.-only 2 room suite available. We were ready to leave. My husband was lucky enough to meet the lady in charge of rooms. She insisted we stay in the suite-She agreed the room 139 had not been redone in 80 years and was very sparce-she would not want to stay there either.. Then a maintenance man asked us if we needed help and he showed us around the resort and told us all about it. Then we were happy and enjoyed the time spent there. This shows how 1 untrained staff can ruin a nice planned stay and how it was resolved without her help.
