Lovely hotel with great access to the Portofino Walk 10k along the coast. So nice and scenic we did it 3 days in a row. The hotel is undergoing a new spa facility and sure once it’s done it will be even better.

Thoroughly enjoyed a four night stay at this hotel which was a joy in pretty much every respect. An Internet deal brought a sea view room (with a spectacular panorama) which was spacious, clean and well equipped, although coffee/tea making facilities would have been welcome. Although there wasn't a separate shower in our room, the large head over the bath was an excellent alternative. With an excellent breakfast choice, a bar terrace looking right across the bay and a high class restaurant on the top floor (giving even better views), eating and socialising was a pleasure. No establishment can achieve high praise without good staff and GH Bristol certainly has such people who, in all cases, were helpful, knowledgeable and good humoured. Special mention goes to the two 'Saras', the first providing a warm welcome at the front desk and the second working in the bar and very able to give useful advice on what's best in the area. (For the record, all the employees we met spoke good English). Our only reservation is that the hotel is about 1km from the edge of the town centre which is surely a long walk back given it's all uphill. Gratefully, we had a car so the journey was straightforward but feel the stay would not have been quite so enjoyable were we to have relied on taxis and good walking shoes. With that in mind, any return would have to include transport and, that being so, we would definitely look to returning to this hotel.

This hotel is terrribly overpriced for the quality of service received. The only thing "grand" about this hotel is the lobby. This was by far the worst experience on our trip -First of all, the rooms did not have a welcome drink of water, (which is global standard) they had 2 bottles of Corona, yes the Mexican beer brand,Corona. How is this an Italian welcome? And how about water, which guests will likely need after a long journey. -The room itself was terribly disappointing and we were housed in a deluxe room with Partial Sea View. The shower was extremely tiny, could barely fit one person comfortably. We were asked to pay 80 euros extra (per night) to upgrade to a decent sized shower. - The hotel staff were not helpful in terms of getting around. Rather, they encouraged us to take expensive taxis when there was a scenic trail about a 20 minute walk into town. -The breakfast is underwhelming, with a very limited selection. We were bored after day 1. This is not a 4-star breakfast. -There is no set pricelist for the services provided. There were no irons in the rooms, and every time we called for laundry services, we were quoted a different price, I guess this varied depending on the mood of the person at the front desk,

Staying for two nights recently at this terrific hotel in a prime location. We were going to visit Portofino by boat the next day.The service was very good & the bistro meal that we had one night overlooking the pool was good.I understand the comment about the crane mentioned by a previous reviewer but hopefully that was short term.

Arrived at Rapollo 5 days ago, always find how you should be, don't cricacise until you work the area, location; facilities out. On like some who obviously came to moan! Yes it's on the outskirts of Rapallo, but 15 minutes walk into town which grows on you quickly. The bus stops every hour outside the hotel, 3 euro return. Rapollo is a fantastic place to discover the wonderful Luguria coast. Portafino-just go there 13 euro return, I wish I'd had money. Do not miss it.🍷x. The Hotel has been an enjoyable experience, yes you can find fault with anything. But we have no complaints - a few more days to go and we will enjoy every moment. Totally recommend the hotel K&D UK.😊
