We arrived to the hotel after 5 hours train. The staff were very rude and unpleasant. They gave us twin bed room even though they knew we were honeymooners. We upgraded to another room with a 'double bed' actually they grabbed 2 twin beds together and made us pay 260 euros extra for the room. The restaurant on the roof which required reservations has an excellent view but terrible food and terrible service. We waited almost 40 min between appetizers and main plate and the Main course was very small portion. We paid 190 euros with no wine just for the food. The hotel was far from the center so we paid 20 euros every time we had to go somewhere.

Hotel and facilities were great especially the pool area. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bedrooms also nicely furnished but the shower was almost too small to get into. Couldn't pick up the soap without opening the shower door! Hotel is a good 15 mins walk out of town up some steep slopes, especially the entrance path to the hotel. It would be no use for older people, unless very fit! Also parking at 12 euros a day is steep . There is no where else to park so it is a necessity if you bring a car. Courtesy minibus to town is a bonus, but it is not available mid afternoon or evening.this is a great shame asit would be used by a lot of people I think.

The sunny weather at Rapallo highlighted much of what the Grand Hotel Bristol had to offer. We had an excellent room with beautiful views of the ocean; the only negative being the location of the shower over the bath. One could have spent hours looking at the view; the dining room gave a similar experience suggesting the Hotel made best use of the site. Cocktails on the terrace overlooking an enticing swimming pool re-enforced our impressions that this Hotel was well set up for a relaxing stay. Our dinner in the Chamberlain Room offered good food and the restaurant staff were very competent.. Breakfast was typically Italian with emphasis on the sweet pastries with the egg dishes being an afterthought. Thankfully besides good coffee the Italians can also make a good cup of tea. Our brief stay in Rapallo impressed and the Grand Hotel Bristol would be a good venue to enjoy all that the region has to offer.

A very nice and clean hotel. Our room, with a garden view, was spacious, silent and the beds were perfect. The wellness area (with jacuzzi and saunas) and the pool area is fantastic and we loved the breakfast! We can really recommend this hotel!

Nice hotel but rooms and decor look tired and needs a refurb nice walk along beach to rapallo approx 25 mins , pool is great but shame about view of the bay being blocked by crane with construction in front of the hotel , drinks very expensive €8 for a beer overall ok but better hotels available.
