With the perfect location, classic italian flair, if you are in the area, this is definitely THE hotel you want to stay in. But skip it if you prefer modern amenities, as it is a historical building with old furnitures. Also skip it if you need complete silence during sleep, it is situated in the busiest piazza, especially on the weekends. But it will not stop me from staying here again next time.

The big surprise of the night came when, in the bed, there were many very small insects, which could not be identified, and another larger one (the one in the picture ). Traces of war (blood) were certainly seen on the pillow and sheet. I want you to understand, however, that nothing is funny. It is inexcusable and absurd that such a hotel in such situations exist. There are a bedbug. We hope that in time the appeared symptoms to disappear and not be lasting effects high. We do not know how it can be avoided such a situation other than by avoiding this hotel. Another guest, In December 2016, has gone through such a situation and here things have not changed at all.

My grandson and I arrived late in the afternoon after an overnight flight from the US and an exhausting day seeing Milan and The Last Supper. Reception was pleasant and efficient. Instead of a room, we were given a small suite with a comfortable bed in each room. My daughter was in Reggio for a month with a group of her students. We met her for a delightful stroll to the Piazza Camillo Prampolini where it seemed the whole town was there enjoying the evening and each other's company. A glass of wine, a slice of pizza, and to bed. We had to leave early the next morning to meet my daughter's group bus to Florence. The hotel staff got us awake, began the breakfast service early for just the two of us, and got us into the taxi to the bus. Wonderful hotel, wonderful service.

We have stayed at Hotel Posta many many times over the years. It is among our favorite hotels in the world and we travel 320 days a year! Umberto, the owner, is the consummate host. The honeymoon suite is breathtaking, has twenty foot ceilings and toile drapes surrounding the enormous bed. We sleep, wake and watch the lights, people and shadows of the street at the base of the hotel through the big, gothic shuttered window. The breakfasts are to-die-for! Partly because Umberto and his family are food royalty - their own Balsamic Vinegar production dating back more than a century (ask for a tour). Giant blocks of Parmesan cheese from his favorite diaries proscuitto crudo, proscuitto parma, incredible salamis and Italian meats, pastries, fruits, cheeses...capuccino! We sit with our wifi-enabled cell phones, check world news and eat for an hour. He has a farmhouse location too...amazing food (pork braised in balsamic vinegar!), balsamic vinegar tastings and if you are very very persuasive - cooking classes by his top chefs. Hotel is on the town square - and Reggio Emilia is a Prada/Gucci/Hermes kind of town. 3 minutes to the Cathedral. Markets on the pedestrian streets and square. Shop, sleep, crash, eat/eat/eat, drink and enjoy Italy at its best! AND, it has a private parking lot!

This is an old world hotel with a wonderful location right in the middle of the old city. The hotel describes itself as the place where "art, history and tradition merge:. They are right -- it can't get better than this! Restaurants, bars and cafes are all within easy walking distance. We would stay here again.
