Horned Dorset Primavera in Rincon, Puerto Rico
Celebrated for its rustic environment, the west coast of Puerto Rico provides a stunning contrast to the sophistication and modernity of Horned Dorset Primavera. The contemporary hacienda architecture of this exclusive retreat sets a romantic tone, which is further enhanced by such luxuries as two-story suites and private plunge pools gazing across the Caribbean. Spanish colonial style is complemented with Balinese, Italian and Moroccan touches, while fine dining opportunities include the recently remodeled Restaurant Aaron and seasonal, open-air Blue Room bistro.
The island's western corner is a paradise of verdant hills, cattle ranches and rugged coastlines. Popular for its surf and seclusion, it offers enchantment at every turn, from humpback whale watching in season, to snorkeling submarine caves and pristine coral reefs. You might hop a helicopter to a Robert Trent Jones golf course, or learn more about local culture at the Taino Indian Ceremonial Park. Whether deep sea fishing, hanging ten, or horseback riding along a deserted beach, you will find an unspoiled wonderland to call your own at Horned Dorset Primavera.

Reviews for Horned Dorset Primavera
We paid for 2 nights, but left after 1 with no reimbursement for the second night! The location is breathtaking, but the service is ok for a 2 star hotel, unacceptable for the price you pay. We were left waiting to check since there was only one person, attending room service, reception, etc... The dirt, dust, fungi growing on the doors, windows and stairs made my husband's unbearable having to lay down outside on the lounge chair until the next morning. Needless to say neither him nor I slept a bit that night! The following morning informed the person at the reception whom offered to clean the room or transfer us. We knew typical cleaning was not going to suffice since the place needed major scrubbing and disinfecting. It is ashamed since the location is superb. Facilities need to be maintained otherwise closed down or price accordingly. I will never return to this place.

I have mixed feelings about this place. The location is amazing, the views from our vila were incredible, and the beach was very quiet and peaceful. The pool seemed nice, but we did not use it. They have a "library", but the books are really old. There were no resort type amenities. Our room was furnished with eclectic furniture. Mix and match, old and in bad condition. The only bathroom with hot water was upstairs and for that you had to let the water run for a good 10 minutes before you got warm water. There is a kitchenette, but there is nothing there! Some plates, glasses, basic cooking utensils would've been nice. I don't normally travel with pans and dishes, etc. The service was a bit lacking. We asked for a blanket on our first night since the bed only had thin sheets, we did not get any until the second day. They claim they have a concierge service but no one ever answers the phone!!! We had drinks from the bar which were charged to our room. There were 4 of us in our group and we each had one drink. After we had checked out and left we discovered we had been charged for 8 drinks!!! Unfortunately we did not have time to go back and aak them to correct the "mistake".We have called several times , but again no one answers the phone. We had 3 beach towels and asked for a fourth. We were questioned as to how many we already had since you are limited to one per person, really???? The building is in serious need of repairs, it definitely has a lot of potential! As I said it is located on a beautiful spot and the area around it is really nice. We had some delicious dinners in town and really enjoyed our time there. We have traveled around the world and have stayed at many places. A place can be rustic, but still be maintained properly. I expect more from a 4 star hotel!

We enjoyed our stay at The Horned Dorset. This is not a place for small kids, but our teen and tween enjoyed it. The personal mini pool outside our suite was a great distraction. The larger pool on property was peaceful and pretty. We did not eat on property as the menu seemed in imaginative and overpriced compared to other restaurants in the area.

The location is perfect for exploring the west coast. The grounds are beautiful, the beach is fantastic for swimming and snorkeling. The location is secluded but very elegant. if you are looking for a quiet Caribbean getaway with elegance and five star service this is for you. If you want a big commercial resort experience with night life and lots of people this is not for you. My family loved it and we will definitely be back.

The Horned Dorset is like no other place you will travel to. It's timeless luxury with excellent staff, also seem to be hand picked from a different time period. At night, you can hear the ocean waves curling in and out throughout your sleep. The bathrooms and views are magnificent (sounds strange to include the bathrooms in a review but once you stay you will understand). This is our multiple visit and it remains as timeless and amazing as ever! Will surely be back. By the way, the new restaurant is amazing also.
