Horned Dorset Primavera in Rincon, Puerto Rico
Celebrated for its rustic environment, the west coast of Puerto Rico provides a stunning contrast to the sophistication and modernity of Horned Dorset Primavera. The contemporary hacienda architecture of this exclusive retreat sets a romantic tone, which is further enhanced by such luxuries as two-story suites and private plunge pools gazing across the Caribbean. Spanish colonial style is complemented with Balinese, Italian and Moroccan touches, while fine dining opportunities include the recently remodeled Restaurant Aaron and seasonal, open-air Blue Room bistro.
The island's western corner is a paradise of verdant hills, cattle ranches and rugged coastlines. Popular for its surf and seclusion, it offers enchantment at every turn, from humpback whale watching in season, to snorkeling submarine caves and pristine coral reefs. You might hop a helicopter to a Robert Trent Jones golf course, or learn more about local culture at the Taino Indian Ceremonial Park. Whether deep sea fishing, hanging ten, or horseback riding along a deserted beach, you will find an unspoiled wonderland to call your own at Horned Dorset Primavera.

Reviews for Horned Dorset Primavera
The location is perfect for exploring the west coast. The grounds are beautiful, the beach is fantastic for swimming and snorkeling. The location is secluded but very elegant. if you are looking for a quiet Caribbean getaway with elegance and five star service this is for you. If you want a big commercial resort experience with night life and lots of people this is not for you. My family loved it and we will definitely be back.

The Horned Dorset is like no other place you will travel to. It's timeless luxury with excellent staff, also seem to be hand picked from a different time period. At night, you can hear the ocean waves curling in and out throughout your sleep. The bathrooms and views are magnificent (sounds strange to include the bathrooms in a review but once you stay you will understand). This is our multiple visit and it remains as timeless and amazing as ever! Will surely be back. By the way, the new restaurant is amazing also.
It was great, the room was cleaned and the view stunning. Place is very close to town and if you rent a car you could discover all the west with no problem. A/C is super freezing, something I like a lot.
Stayed for two nights in november. The place is beautiful. Moroccan style decorations all around. The rooms are more like an apartment with kitchen, living room and a terrace with your own private pool. We got one of the villas overlooking the ocean and it was amazing to wake up with that view every morning. There was a lot of detail invested in the decorations and it shows. Staff thought of details, we found off for mosquitoes in our room, a wine opener, cups, coffee maker...The bed was super comfy, ac worked well. The only two reasons I am not giving them a 5: although hotel and room was clean there were some small details I noticed that Must improve in the upkeep of the place, for example some Of the walls in the master bed need painting, they don't look as fresh as they should for a hotel this expensive. If you are looking for a boutique hotel that is private and romantic, this is your spot. Also, I recommend that you bring food, snacks and drinks of your own because their bar and restaurant is pretty expensive. There are great restaurants in rincon (estela, the english rose for breakfast, the beach house for lunch) that you may also want to try that are not as expensive as the hotel rest.

This used the best weekend getaway on the island, but the economic hardship it has undergone is showing. Pool was closed for the weekend, upkeep is showing distress, no lunch service, a/c in the room was freezing up and stopped cooling, no a/c in the main restaurant, corridors were upswept... wish I could give it a 5 star rating because we love the place, and it still maintains some of its magic with the gorgeous setting, beautiful sunsets, and huge suites, but it isn't what it used to be. I really hope the operators can come up with a way ($$) to take it back to its original glory, and they better do it soon, because it seems to be past the tipping point.
