Great Location Friendly Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

During my first visit to Rio de Janeiro, I had a great time. The hotel was located right beside Copacabana Beach, which allowed me to enjoy the breathtaking views while also making it convenient to explore the city. The check-in process was quick and easy. I was grateful for the printout that the hotel provided, which included information about various activities and their timings. It was especially helpful as I was feeling tired and sleepy after a long flight. I had a beautiful view of the sea and city, which was amazing. I shared some landscape photos I took from the comfort of my room. My room was equipped with all the necessary amenities, and the bed was very comfortable. However, I wish they had provided an extra blanket because there were a few cold and wet nights and mornings. I appreciated the blackout curtains that helped me sleep peacefully and calmly. The laundry service was efficient and completed my request in good time. There is a gym available 24/7 on the top floor of the building. You can reach it by taking the lift and climbing one floor up. The gym is equipped with the basics and there is no attendant present, so you will need to have your own workout routines. They provide towels and a drinking water faucet, so don't forget to carry your own water bottle and supplies to sanitize the machines before and after use. Although I didn't have the chance to swim, there is a pool located on the same floor as the restaurant. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to check out their spa either. The breakfast buffet was delightful, and I appreciated the effort they put into offering a variety of options each day. While I do not personally eat eggs, the egg station queues got super long. It might be worth considering how to minimize wait times for guests during peak hours. Also for me the coffee and tea were not up to par. I struggle with places that serve mass-produced, burnt coffee and only offer tepid water and an English breakfast tea bag. As a Kenyan, this was particularly disappointing. My solution for a caffeine fix was to request for a machine-made cappuccino instead. I even made a mental note to bring my own tea and coffee supplies and a French press on my next business trip because it was that bad. The lunch buffet was good, but it felt a bit repetitive after a few days. Additionally, on busy days, it was difficult to find an available table. Despite these issues, there were some fantastic highlights. I absolutely loved the fruit platters. The fruit in Brazil, whether it was papaya or watermelon, tasted amazing. My highest compliments, however, go to the team who prepared the snacks during conference breaks and the desserts. They brought out lovely and delicious treats every day. The hotel's location is perfect for foodies as it offers a variety of food options nearby. Additionally, there is a craft market along the beach strip in the evenings where you can buy local souvenirs and gift items. During my stay, the concierge was extremely helpful in organizing tourist excursions despite my limited time. He even sold me the tickets, printed them and gave me directions, which made my life so much easier. All the staff were professional and friendly during my stay. Although security seemed to be a big issue, I felt comfortable with the team who kept guard. All in all, I enjoyed my stay.

Never 5 star

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Does a 5 star not supply toilet tissue. Does a 5 star have ripped bed linen. Does a 5 star not properly refill tea and coffee. I thought Hilton honours guest are provided with water. Does a 5 star have a phone that works. All these are things we didn't have provided and had to ask for. With lifts being heard all night long in our room 1110. This was the worst room we have ever had staying at a hilton. The manager stated an I agreeIs the only thing going for it is the location. Its staff and food. The room had a great view of private flats. We did get to the hotel early and after a 11 hour flight and a 2 hour wait for our transportation we needed sleep an rest. Our allocated room wasn't available so we stupidly took any room so we can sleep. We took r1110. Anyone who gets offered this carsy of a room refuse. Good luck

Standard chain hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Located right beside the famous beach, the hotel is standard chain fare done competently. The room was a good size and the bed and bathroom very comfortable. There’s a minibar available and a safe in each room. The spa was a little disappointing as it was two jacuzzis and a changing room. However you could use it to shower after you had checked out and a day at the beach which is a nice gesture by the hotel. Breakfast was good with the usual choices. I would stay there again and would think it’s a good choice for the city

A little tired

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

The hotel is in a good location near beach and restaurants but is a little run down. The breakfast was great with good views and so was the food we had at their roof top bar/pool. However the lobby is very unwelcoming. At times they even have metal barriers by the door to presumably stop people off the street coming in. We didn't find the reception staff very welcoming either especially since we just got off a 14 hour flight. The room had great views again but was also tired and had a duvet with no cover just wrapped in a sheet which doesn't seem hygienic.
