We enjoyed our 4 day stay. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The facility has character. It's not new and does need some updating, but I don't nit pick the details. Any negative issue we encountered was with impatient, rude and self centered guests. We came to relax, and we did.

My sister and I just returned from a 3 day stay. We are both in our late 50's and seasoned global travelers. We plan an annual weekend away, to relax, enjoy our surroundings, and chose Puerto Rico this year. We chose this resort as it had the amenities we were looking for, plus a brand name we believed would provide quality experience. Sadly, we came away regretting our choice. While the resort itself sits on beautiful grounds and positioned in a quiet location, with the bones of what once may have been a well run/maintained property, it’s simply not that today. While there were some positives with our stay, we felt most let down in two areas, condition of the resort and the hotel staff. While the common areas were mostly acceptable (except the tennis courts), we found our room (bldg 7) to be tired, worn, and in dire need of updating. Peeling wallpaper, soiled sofas, sliding doors not working properly, should not go unnoticed by staff and should be reported, repaired or replaced. This lack of attention to basic hotel maintenance by house keeping, was equal to the clear disinterest demonstrated by several other members of staff, particularly Avenue bartenders, front desk associates and pool attendants. Your staff represents your hotel and brand, and is your main point of contact with your guests. Having them enjoy interacting with guests, with courtesy and respect, is clearly a must in your industry. Sadly this was lacking. Perhaps a more robust recruiting and training protocol should be considered. On a more positive note, our dinner at Tiempo, exceeded our expectations for both quality of food, wine selection, service, and atmosphere. After dinner drinks at the Martini Bar, along with a lovely bartender, Iluminada, made for a wonderful evening and experience. We came very close to dining again at Tiempo, our second night, but at the last minute, we reconsidered, and chose to leave the resort and dine at another nearby hotel. We did engage the services of your concierge for a taxi that evening, as well as for our taxi back to the airport when departing. Both times, your staff did not let you down. We found the breakfast buffet at Cafe Soleil to be adequate. Nothing more. The reception desk was quite chaotic and somewhat disorganized when being greeted for seating. Lines formed outside the entrance, with confusing and inadequate space to wait. The staff was helpful and tried to accommodate the flow of diners as best possible. While we did our research, read both the positive and negative reviews, as well as did comparison shopping for price/value, we ourselves own our decision to have chosen your resort for our weekend stay. We do not believe our expectations were out of line, for a Melia hotel in this price range and rating level. We will be more careful in our plans for next year and not include a Melia resort as an option.

Found hotel facilities to be very nice staff was accommodating. especially carmen the lady housekeeper that met us with olah! And a welcoming smile everytime she saw us. And the bartender leslie that kept the times rolling at the adult pool. Found the restaurants to be a little pricey and not as good as one might expect but shopping and night life a short cab or drive you can make it. Relaxing is thehat main thing and we did that. All in all a good exsperence.

We stayed for the PR Open. The room had a lot of humid. The sofa bed was dirt with stains and the mattress was worn out. It needs improvement and maintenance immediately. The breakfast was good and had everything

We stayed at the resort March 23-25 for our last two days in puerto rico. The resort is really nice including pools, beach and emenities. But our room was so damp day or night the floor table tops ,everything was wet . We called the front desk with no help so I called housekeeping and waited 2HRS and finally went out . When we returned at 11 pm there was a dehumidifier running and by 6am I had emptied it 3 times . So there reviews aren't exaggerated we stayed in villa 7 room 716 so stay clear .
