Our second stay at Maroma, a Belmond Hotel, Riviera Maya, was nothing short of extraordinary. There are beautiful resorts, and then there are places that create a sense of belonging, where every detail, every interaction, and every moment feels thoughtfully curated. Maroma is undoubtedly one of those rare places. From the moment we arrived, the warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality of the entire team were remarkable. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the butlers, front desk and reservations teams, pool and beach attendants, restaurant and bar teams, talented culinary colleagues behind the scenes, and every single person who welcomed us and cared for us throughout our stay. Their attention to detail, authentic smiles, and effortless service transformed an already beautiful setting into an unforgettable experience. Following its magnificent renovation, Maroma has reached an entirely new level of sophistication. The architecture, design, textures, colors, cuisine, service, and connection to the Riviera Maya come together beautifully. Yet, what truly distinguishes this property is its people. They understand that genuine luxury is not simply about beautiful surroundings—it is about how a guest feels. For us, Maroma represents the very essence of modern Mexican luxury: elegant without being pretentious, refined yet deeply connected to its destination, and exceptional in every sense. We were so captivated by our experience that we have already booked our return for next year—and this time, we will be bringing more of our family to share in the magic of this extraordinary place. Congratulations to the entire Maroma team. You have created something truly special and continue to demonstrate that the highest level of luxury is ultimately defined by heartfelt hospitality. Thank you for making us feel so welcome, cared for, and inspired. We leave with beautiful memories and tremendous gratitude. Until next year, Maroma. We cannot wait to return.

Overall a really enjoyable time! Going off season during their “rainy” time was clutch- not crowded at all and had a very attentive experience. Food (10/10): We ate at every restaurant and every single meal was really good. I think my favorite was Woodend which is more upscale, Casa Mayor is their standard and is where breakfast is. We also did their special offering of a Yaxache dinner which is 5 courses, private and on the rooftop- super recommend if you’re celebrating something. Thoroughly enjoyed it all! Environment (8/10): Full jungle in here- got to see so many animals including spider monkeys, coatis, small white fox, iguanas, lizards, birds and their resident parrot, Adelita. There are three pools, one is tucked away by the beach and suites which is adult only. The other is next to the spa and the last is the family pool and in the center of everything. All well maintained. Never had to fight for chairs or space, but I can see how during busy season it might be different. They’d come by little treats during the day like ice cream, fruit, nuts, always give you bottled water. Layout is very compact/walkable, but can feel a little small. There is no music playing which depending on what you’re looking for could be a plus or minus. Room (10/10): We reserved a junior suite garden view and got upgraded. Gorgeous, unique Mexican vibe. The bed is so comfy, take advantage of their pillow menu!! You can really personalize almost everything. Spa (8/10): They do have a hydrotherapy circuit which was decent. Imperial massage is great- 60 minutes massage 30 minute facial to get the best of both worlds. Offerings (10/10): They offer loads of complimentary activities which y’all should take advantage of. I did the Art of Smudging, and Salts to bring home. They also have yoga every morning which was challenging and energizing! Butler Services (20/10): The butlers really take it to another level. Claudia and Jean-Luc were so helpful to us. They checked in us through WhatsApp, throughout the day by the pool, making appointments if needed etc. They would leave little treats in our room as we were celebrating our anniversary but the top was our last night when they drew a romantic bath with candles and rose petals! They also knew one night we were trying to make margaritas in the room and had kept ordering their signature Maroma margarita (welcome drink) so the following the day they left us all the ingredients and how to make it! Top tier, if you’re looking for a quiet, romantic, luxe getaway with thoughtful and friendly people— this is it! Shout out to all the staff but in particular our butlers Claudia & Jean-Luc, Sergio, Jorge who took care of us by the pool most days!

This is a hidden gem. This is a wonderful hotel. The staff were all very pleasant and personable. Top-notch quality with service. The rooms were very well appointed, very clean, bed was extremely comfortable. Amenities within the rooms were excellent. Service from the concierge, pool Attendance, management was superb. The pool Attendance work extremely hard. It would help us to get our loungers and umbrella set up every day. The intermittent treats that were brought out for all guest during the daytime were a great surprise. I would highly recommend this hotel due to the staff, rooms, breakfast (which was great!) and overall the service. The only downside was the sargassum that was present at the beach. This is not a fault of the Hotel by any means. This is mother nature and the timing of our visit. When discussing this with the Hotel staff, I was told they are developing a barrier offshore to help prevent the sargassum from reaching the shoreline. Every day there were people cleaning the sargassum with heavy machinery, which could be a damper for someone looking to relax on the beach. Again, this is no fault of the Hotel, but one thing to consider (perhaps the timing of your visit) if you are someone who wants to spend a lot of time at the beach. A short walk away along the beach (2 minutes) there is a beach club and motorized water sport activities like jet, skis, parasailing, etc - if this is something that you’re looking for. Or rather would highly recommend this hotel!!

Our recent stay at Maroma Resort and Spa in the Mayan Rivera in Mexico, ranks among the best of our travels. This is a place for experienced travelers who want the best nature has to offer, lots of ambiance, a native flair and an international doting staff in an expansive private resort with very few vacationers. We would recommend this resort and spa to anyone who wants the very finest.

We used Luxury Link for a vacation at La Moroma. The resort is unlike most high end destination spots: it is a true beach property. At Maromo you open your door and you are on the beach. The service at the hotel is one the you would find at a typical 5 star hotel. The entire staff pretty much knows your name and what you like by the second day that you are there. They are so happy to attend to anything that you want. I will continue to recommend the hotel to anyone that I meet!
