I just want to take a moment to talk about one of my best experiences ever. Belmond maroma resort gave us an incredible and unforgettable experience. As soon as we arrived, we were received by Christian who welcome us with a great smile in the lobby and provided us with a delicious maroma margarita. After checking, he took us to our room while talking about the hotel history and the services they offer. The room was gorgeous with beautiful welcome display on the bed, a sitting area, robes and slippers and an incredible bathroom. Unfortunately, we arrived a little bit late that night to really appreciate the environment upon our arrival, but we never imagined how incredible would be next morning and the days ahead. As soon as we started the morning, we experienced what this hotel is all about, the incredible service by the best staff I had ever met. It was a pleasure to breakfast every morning knowing that Elsa, la Tia Dalia and Moises would be there welcoming us with a delicious hot chocolate, the best homemade quesadillas I had ever tried and a great service. Continuing with our adventure we decided to take the bike tour the next morning and it was one of the best decisions we took. We meet Karen! She was just wonderful; she gave us a lot of information about the hotel and the Mayans history which was super interesting. The tour is about 45 min but we end staying around 5 hours with her because we just enjoyed being with her at the activities center. Food was excellent in the specialty restaurants. It wouid be hard to pick a favorite restaurant, however dinner at el sol restaurant was excellent because we meet a great waitress Jacobo, excellent service, great attitude and super friendly. Also I want to said thank you to Arturo the restaurant manager for welcoming us to the restaurant. The pools are nice and the beach is something else, super clean great atmosphere and the service from Jony, and Julio who were always there to assist us. Finally, but no least Belmond morama hotel has the best bar “Freddys Bar” if you want to try the best drinks and have a great time look for Freddy and manuel! These two gentlemen are the best! Freddy has being there for more than 20 years and his attitude and service is something that I can’t describe. Thank so much for the great experience, I would never forget this place and its people that are what makes Belmond maroma one of the best destinations in playa Del Carmen.

This was our second visit to the Belmond Maroma - having had such an incredible experience last year we struggled to find a good reason not to return and ended up making the decision to do just that...and as always seems to be the case with the Maroma we were not disappointed. It is hard to know where to start when writing a review of this place, as all elements of it are simply outstanding. If you are reading this and want to cut to the chase then simple go ahead and book some time at the Maroma. It is world class in every way & you will not regret it. A few personal views and observations outside of the regular and well deserving platitudes that the resort gets. There are a whole range of rooms to choose from. On both visits we have stayed in an Ocean View room over by the gym and loved the room and location. It’s a 5 minute walk from the main restaurant & beach bar which we liked as it meant it was a little more quite if you wanted to just hang by the room or at the large pool over there (one of 3 at the resort). The gym is excellent. We went every morning (to try and remove some of the guilt we would pile on later in the day...) and used a nice mix of weights and cardio machines. The spa is world class. Massage treatments aren’t cheap but a great experience, while guests can use the steam and sauna in the spa for nothing, something we found was a nice way to finish off an afternoon of lounging around. Snorkelling trip is very worth doing. Cost $80 for about 90mins but was great to see all of the coral and sea life living just off the coast. We say a turtle, stingray, lobsters, eels and a ton a fish without really trying. Can be booked at the resort’s water sport centre, and you can also do a range of diving and sailing with them as well. The food has improved from an already high standard since our last visit. I think there is a relatively new Argentinian chef, but regular meals in an evening felt even more imaginative and delicious than ever. If you get the chance to do the Cantina night (usually a Wednesday) then do it. A fun way to meet other guests, try some proper Mexican food and drink too much (you might even learn a little about tequila if you can remember the next day). Finally, it is only fair to highlight the staff. They are unbelievable and above everything else help make the Maroma feel so special. To say they are friendly and welcoming doesn’t do it justice, but such a big part of the relaxing experience at the Maroma is the way all of the staff go out of their way to make you feel special. It’s not fair to highlight individuals as otherwise this would just be a long list of names, but a special shout out to Sergio who must be the hardest working man at the Moroma! If you want to rest, relax, unwind, be pampered and just feel special then pay a visit to the Belmond Maroma. It’s a magical place.

The staff at Maroma have an knack for anticipating your every need with a smile while respecting your privacy. Their unique approach to customer service made our experience once again an outstanding memory. This has been a consistent theme for the last 10 years since we started going to this resort. The beach at Maroma is beautifully maintained and their pools and food outlets are perfect. However, their distinction is no doubt, the staff who cater to your every need with pleasure.

As a well-experienced traveler who had stayed in three Belmond legendary properties in Peru, I didn't know what to expect. We have a home in Cabo San Lucas; therefore, we are very familiar with the finest hotels in Mexico. Recently we stayed at the Banyan Tree in Mayakoba and enjoyed it. All this changed when I arrived at this magnificent hotel, surrounded by mangroves and wild jungle fauna, I was transported to a secret place of zen that I so much needed. The service was bar-none magnificent, with everyone jumping to please you and making sure that you are happy. Not only was the entire hospitality team most friendly but surpassed my expectation as a picky client. The Room Manager, Diego Lozano, a tall, young and handsome Spaniard, was most impressive in making sure we were satisfied with our room. The main restaurant El Sol had the most incredible menu and high-quality food comprised of the freshest ingredients. The Executive Chef of the hotel, Gabriel Kolofon, personally came to describe our dinner, accompanied by a very knowledgeable sommelier, Aron. The red snapper the chef prepared was the best fish I have ever eaten in Mexico! Thank you everyone for making my stay the most memorable one. No wonder more than 65% of the clients come back to this magical place. Chang T. from DC.

Belmond Maroma is the perfect place for relaxation and reflection. Not only the location by the beach in the jungle, but also the genuine atmosphere. The wonderful staff really take pride in the local Maya culture and since the resort is one of the oldest in the area they know what they are talking about. From the greeting when you arrive throughout the stay you feel care free, soaking energy and so relaxed. The service is very friendly and personal. With a staff of more than 250 there Is always someone nearby to assist and willing to make you feel even more comfortable. A lot of activities and service is surprisingly complementary which only adds to your experience. The food and wine list is also exceptional. I could go on. My admiration for the management and especially the Manager of house division Diego Lozana Vara! It is obvious that all the employees I have met enjoy their work. This is a must on your bucket list!
