Quiet stay 21-28 October. Resort is nice but unfortunately it rained everyday. stayed in a bungalow on the island which was clean with a good bed.. Lacking inside seating for rainy days. Pool nice and the resort heated it for us. The restraint had good food and the staff was very accommodating to our requests. Went snorkeling three times (all the weather would allow), not as nice as we had hoped. The rain had made the visibility limited. The non-normal warm water (global warming) has bleached and killed much of the coral tops. It it continues in furture years it will be sad news. Recommended resort if you are looking for a small quiet place to stay.

Just returned from Roatan where we learned what rainy season meansčśü Went on One of our dry days to do a Discover Scuba Dive. Ron our DiveMaster was so knowledgable and safety conscious as well as friendly and relaxed a true professional. Ellie and Riley were excellent assistants helping us and monitoring our equipment so we could relax and enjoy. Incredible experience and now we are obssesed with diving. We will definitly tell all of our friends who our considering diving to go to Barefoot Cay and ask to dive with Ron Gorgeous private island to ourselves! We cant wait to return!

Traveled in October for a romantic getaway and to get my open water diver certification. It rained our whole time there but we hardly noticed it. The dive shop was first rate. You can tell right away this a very professional outfit. My instructor Ron was extremely safety conscious and made my certification process fun. All 4 dives included with the certification package were fantastic. We dove a 5th time in a spot called Mary┬┤s place. Over 60 feet of visibility. Super fun. I will definitely pursue further Padi training with them. The hotel accommodations are great. Our room above the dive shop was very comfortable and nicely furnished. We had a fantastic view of the Caribbean. The whole staff is dedicated to help you have a great time. The hotel does have a strict noise (loud music etc) policy that they really enforce! This was great for us as we wanted a place to relax. The spa is excellent. We booked the Barefoot Special Massage. 105 minutes of oily bliss. Food at the restaurant was very good. The hotel can help you book many other activities around the island like private beach days, off- roading, horseback riding, etc. I will go back for sure but probably after the rainy season! :)

This was an interesting property. The rooms are all located out on a small island which you get to by taking a small boat across a moat about 30 feet over to the island which drops you off onto the site. So security wise it's pretty darned safe as someone would have to swim out to get onto the island. The boat guys are always right there at any time of day or night to get you on and off the island quickly whenever you feel the need. The rooms are very, very nice. The beds are excellent!!! The food was great, the staff was excellent - especially the front office staff. The snorkeling is very average right there at the resort. It would be fantastic if there was some way to get out past the rocks into the ocean, but we tried and it is far too dangerous to even try to get out there without killing yourself. They really need to clear a small area off to the side of the property of the rocks to allow people out to the ocean. It is sad because you can see all the snorkel tour boats just on the other side of those rocks, but you can't get there at all from the property. it seems like such a minimal and easy thing that could be done to make this place a 5 star rated gem, but it just falls slightly short because of this. We are comparing this to the Parrot Tree resort (where we stayed a week before) and they had a path out beyond the rocks and the snorkeling there was amazing. Hopefully they will make that small change - if they do, this place would be close to perfect.

I had the best time relaxing and having fun at Barefoot Cay. The scenery here made our honeymoon so memorable. Hurricane Irma prevented us from going home, so the staff was more than accomadating for our extended honeymoon. They allowed us to stay another week. They even put us in the honeymoon cottage for the last of our stay. Put this resort on your trip list to enjoy snorkeling and many days at the pool. You won't want to miss this beautiful paradise spot.
