Went with my husband and friends; the Ice Bar was great, a lot of fun! We actually stayed in an ocean view suite with breakfast included. The room was clean and well appointed. The food in the hotel was great; we were not big fans of the ice bar drink specials, so we generally went to the bar. The staff was very friendly, helpful and professional. We really enjoyed our weekend and would like to visit again during the summer.

UPDATE* 2/13/18 - I have to say that the staff at the Samoset continue to be among the friendliest I have ever encountered. I messed up our reservation and made a bunch of special requests this year (our 6th year returning) and was not the easiest of guests to deal with. Cornelius Russell (Connie) the Regional General Manager was SO NICE to me and offered to help me himself. He never lost his patience with me even though I changed my reservation 3 times. Who does that these days? No one! Thank you again for making us feel welcome! Absolutely loved the Samoset! We spent a part of February vacation there last year (2014) with our family and another friend's family. 4 kids, 4 adults and we had a great time. The food was delicious, the staff was gracious and helpful, and the resort is gorgeous in the winter. Totally set up for a kid friendly experience during Feb vacation complete with ice skating rink, Wii in the ballrooms, and a sledding hill. Going back again this year and can't wait. Kelsey at the front desk helped with our reservations to make sure we got the best deal that they offered. She was so helpful and friendly!! Love her! Looking forward to more fun this time around...

Simply one of the finest resort destinations in Maine. The rooms, clean and spacious, most with awesome water views. The food and beverage top notch. The only reason to leave the resort would be to sample the fare of the local, seasonal seafood huts. Connie Russell and his staff are attentive, well informed, warm and polite. During my last 2 stays it has been Miranda who was at her best at the desk. This was our 4 year in a row attending coming to the Samoset in February. Even though they are only open on the weekends during the Winter none of the services are missing. Gym, pool, rec room, bar/restaurant, of course, and other amenities are in full swing. Will keep coming back!

I live in Maine and February is exactly the time of year when I need to get away! When I want to get away but lack the time or money to go far, the Samoset is my CHOICE! They offer great winter rates on rooms and in the spa and the fireplaces in the dining/bar area make the experience so warm and cozy. $15.00 buys you a delicious, straight out of the wood fired oven pizza, all of the food rocks and the drink list is phenomenal. So, for the last few years, I meet up with my girlfriends to celebrate my birthday, our friendship and long winters by the fire at the Samoset! We linger and talk, eat and drink by the fire. We met wonderful people and made new friends! In the daylight we took walks, ventured out for lunch in Rockland swam on the pool and enjoyed the lovely areas through out the hotel to relax. I also enjoyed pampering at the spa! Thanks to Megan especially for her wonderful personality and my happy feet and hands after my mani and pedi! My facial was incredible and the kind staff brought me a bloody Mary to enjoy for my birthday! The manager took amazing care of us as did the entire front desk staff and everyone else we encountered. Two years ago I had my wedding there in June. An incredible experience that my guests continue to talk about and they all hope to return! The rooms vary... some are newly redecorated... plans are underway to renovate even more. But whether you have an older room or a newer one, you will find them well appointed, clean and very cozy! My bed was amazing! I slept great! The ocean view can't be beat - any time of the year! My girlfriends and I are booking our reservations for next February and I plan to be back in the meantime for more spa love and relaxation! Thank you Samoset!

Samoset is the perfect place to go for a get away. They have beautiful rooms that lookout onto the seaside. There are things to do here for your vacation. If you are into golf or tennis they have it. If you are more into the relaxing, there are lots of grounds to walk and see the beautiful landscape, or walk out to the light house, on the water. Or if more relaxation is what you need they have a first class spa, that you can have a wonderful couples spa day, or even to treat yourself. The restaurant has the most delicious food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast bar has lots of wonderful breakfast items, or you can order from the menu as well. I would recommend this resort to anyone that comes to Maine. Its a beautiful relaxing place.
