We are used to staying in 5 Star resorts all over the world. This unfortunately was not of that caliber. This resort is in desperate need of a remodel. Our stay could have been better because; 1. The ocean view king room they reserved for us had a leak and the carpet was wet when we arrived. They had no replacement for it accept two queen beds which weren't an option for us. They were however nice enough to move us to another king without the upgraded view. 2. Perhaps our water would have been replaced daily if we asked for it. The hand cream was provided when we requested it. 3. The shower faucet kept moving on its own to hotter temperature. 4. The sink drain was backed up. The staff at this resort was very nice and accommodating.

We spent three nights with our extended family. We had three different rooms -two suites and one large, ocean view with a king. The rooms are spacious and clean. There are also lovely sitting areas on each floor with expansive ocean views. We have been to Samoset several times and we think it is an amazing family resort. The pools (indoor and outdoor), playground, ultimate backyard are all wonderful for busy little bodies. The location can't be beat - you can walk to the beach and breakwater and the restaurant is updated and the food is delicious. While our friends are booking expensive plane tickets to fly down south to other resorts - they are missing out on this New England family getaway. Highly recommended!

Only 24 hours into our trip here and all 3 key cards became deactivated and would not allow access to our room or main building. Fortunately, one adult was left in the room and could allow the others in. Our ID's are left locked in the room while we use pool, amenities, etc. They gave us new cards but now we are all afraid to all leave room at one time. Without ID we are dead. Totally ruined vacation.

I stayed in a timeshare unit at Samoset for two weeks in March 2017. In every way I found the resort to be superior. (if the worst thing you can say about a place is that you wished it had a potato peeler you are doing well...) View of ocean as in previous Samoset stays from bedroom and living room is curative and lovely. Grounds are lovely and pastoral--profusion of birch trees etc. Housekeeping in my 800 Building (Ginger and the people who work with Ginger) could not do enough and had the warmest, most attentive, customer-oriented attitudes. People at athletic center/indoor pool also attentive and had great attitudes as did Chris at front desk. Place is just well managed and lovely.

The property is right on the ocean and is a great place for a small or large meeting. I went in the off season and a lot of the property was in winter mode but still great. Very friendly staff. Would recommend.
