We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The staff was nice and helpful, they could speak French and English which was perfect for us. The breakfast is great in the mornings. We actually walked up from the bus station on the arrival day, and the hike to the hotel is steep, but it was good workout. The shuttle is very reliable and fast, it drops us at a very good location near the metro, so that makes the hotel location not as inconvenien as one might think. You do need to make sure you book the shuttle ahead of time in case it's filled. Some guests thought they could just walk up to it at a certain time, and they'd have to wait 30mins to an hour until there was a seat open, so make sure you call and book it. Overall great stay.

I really loved the amenities of the hotel and the rooms are very nice and spacious but the staff tended to be offstandish and seemingly a bit reluctant to speak in English. Every morning we had to go out of our way to ask the breakfast staff for a cappuccino when they would greet other guests and immediately ask them if they would like one. The reception desk workers have little patience. I did really appreciate the shuttle service this hotel provides since it’s quite a walk to the city of Rome– you get dropped off about 2 minutes away from Piazza del Popolo. And there are a few convenience stores and restaurants all within 5-10 minutes of the hotel if you’d prefer not making the trip to the city. The continental breakfast is pretty good. They have great, fresh juices and a variety of fruits, breads, cheeses, meats, yogurts, pastries, and cereals. The coffee is not fantastic, but the cappuccino is.

We spent 5 wonderful days in Rome. The Hotel Duke is very nice, a bit out from City Center, 2km to Piazza Popolo, but quiet surrounding neighborhood. Shuttle never runs every 15 minutes and often is booked (we doubt it) so don't rely on this service. Shuttle to airport can be arranged for 80€ - so better take the Leonardo Express for 14€. Breakfast is good, especially if you consider to be in Italy and Rome in particular. The staff at breakfast is really pleasant and attentive. We give 5 stars of acknowledgement. Our judgement overall being a 3 results from the front desk team's performance. When we arrived they couldn't find our reservation although we booked on the hotels web page! Instead of excuses and a potential upgrade (we booked 30sqm spacious rooms) we got downgraded into smaller rooms on different floors (travelling with our kids) - but price stayed the same. A no-go and absolutely inacceptable. Unfortunately customer orientation was generally very poor at the front desk. But this seems to be a common pattern in Rome as unfriendlyness occured at many occasions to us. We travelled a lot of italian cities and regions and are absolute fans, but Rome is the worst traveler/customer experience we ever had on all of our plentiful vacations around the globe. If you happen to stay at the Duke make sure you eat once at Archimede 80, Close to the Hotel. This is a wow experience because you really enjoy friendly People who care about you!

The hotel was avant-garde, beautiful, the rooms were absolutely spacious, free buffet with champagne for breakfast. A musical environment, plush decor, and Masimo the manager was eclectic in his mannerisms, and some of the other staff were interesting and interested. Never met a captivating lady of my caliber before.

We stayed at The Duke from 26th December to the 29th. There were 6 of us, 3 adults and 3 children aged 12, 9 and 3. The staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived early, before the check in time and they worked hard to get our rooms ready. We waited for no more then 30 minutes. They accommodated our request for two rooms close together, one with 3 single beds and one with a double and a single. The rooms have an old class charm to them. Cleaned daily to a high standard. Fresh towels daily. Breakfast was plentiful. Always fresh. We ate dinner at the restaurant on our first night and the food was very good. The shuttle service is brilliant!! Always ran on time. The journey time to Flaminio is just under 10 minutes. From here you can use the metro. Two stops to Octivia which is the stop for the Vatican. About 20 minutes not even, to Coliseum. And from Flaminio you can walk to Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon. I have to give a shout out to Luigi! And of course all the staff who make this hotel a wonderful place. I highly recommend the Duke to anyone wishing to visit Rome. We will stay again when we return.
