About the Hotel

Rome's magnificent Empire Palace Hotel was built in the 1870s for a family of Italian nobles. Its beautifully restored ceiling frescoes of the heavens reflect a meticulous regard for the building's origins, while daring contemporary artwork in the lobby delivers this landmark into the 21st century. As for the guestrooms, their elegance is timeless. In the garden courtyard, cypress and magnolia trees surround a 16th-century fountain. During the summer months, diners at Aureliano can enjoy the restaurant's acclaimed Mediterranean cuisine in this romantic, outdoor space.

Comfortable Stay with Classic Rome Atmosphere

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

We had a wonderful stay at UNAHOTELS Empire Roma during our trip to Rome. The hotel had a classic Roman charm while still feeling comfortable and updated where it mattered most — especially the remodeled bathroom and very comfortable beds after long sightseeing days. One of our favorite parts was opening the beautiful double windows at night and enjoying the atmosphere of Rome from our room. The location was extremely convenient for getting around the city using the FreeNow taxi app, which worked perfectly throughout our stay. There was also a local market just one block away where we picked up drinks, snacks, and essentials, plus a cozy coffee shop next door that became our morning routine every day before exploring the city. The staff was accommodating and welcoming throughout our stay, and overall the hotel felt safe, comfortable, and well-located without being overly touristy. We would absolutely stay here again.

Lovely hotel, well worth a stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Lovely spacious hotel, with good quality bedroom and bathroom. Exceptionally quiet bedroom despite hotel being busy, including a conference. Good choice of food offerings for the buffet breakfast. Staff very friendly & helpful. Great location & approx. 15 minute walk to the central train station. Would recommend.

DONT STAY HERE, RIP OFF, NO working AC.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

First, the AC didn't work the whole time we were there. They said it was because our window was open, which it was not. They control the AC from the front desk, off/on etc. I will attach a picture of how we Jerry rigged it to stay on for periods at a time. The shower was crazy, nothing to prevent the water from shooting all over the bathroom. Front desk staff was rude and non-attentive. The lady with the long blonde hair was horrible, didn't even smile of look up at you. The thing that bothered me the MOST, was on settling my bill the night before, they said I owed 228.00. I said what is that for? He couldn't tell me. He said you must have eaten something out of the fridge, NOPE. He said we'll you may eat something later tonight, OMG WTH. NOPE. I asked again if he could show me what the charge was for, he couldn't. So he took it off. Free breakfast was horrible, everything was cold, even the eggs and meats.

Provided rates remain competitive, happy to commend this hotel to others

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

As a family, 5 of us { adults} stayed here for the 2026 Six Nations rugby weekend. We were not the only Scots who’d chosen this hotel - you could have draped a Scottish saltire outside the hotel, there were that many Scottish visitors! Because of the number of overseas guests in Rome that weekend, hotel prices in general were higher than usual. However, frankly, we heard nothing but praise, compliments and good cheer from fellow Scots. Location is handy to walk to/from Termini, but equally accessible on foot or via Metro to Trevi, Ponte and Prati plus many other areas. Lots of decent coffee shops, restaurants and supermarkets within easy radius. Cost of rooms was in line with if not better value than most other hotels of similar grade when you include the well-served and decent breakfast option. Rooms were of an entirely acceptable standard. Noting it was winter and Rome was enduring some heavy Scottish weather that weekend, the aircon seemed a tad confusing for us. But, this was swiftly explained and reset by helpful housekeeping staff. Reviewers who expect a brand, spanking new hotel with multiple amenities at these rates live in cloud-cuckoo-land! This is a pragmatic and practical place one can choose to stay. Finally, a brief shout-out to Reception staff - esp. Tania - who were not only efficient but also willing to be tremendously helpful. All in all, provided rates remain competitive, happy to commend this hotel to other visitors.

Our experience 🇿🇦

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 months ago

We recently stayed here and overall it was a great experience. The hotel is clean, the staff are friendly and super helpful, and the rooms are tidy and comfortable—though the shower is a bit on the small side. The on‑site restaurant is nice, and the breakfast is tasty and satisfying. Its location is convenient for exploring the area, and the TV channels are mostly in Italian, which could be a plus or a drawback depending on your language preference. All in all, a solid stay 🌟🏨✨

A great find for us is the Empire Palace Hotel in Rome! Beautiful rooms, excellent service and delicious food made it difficult to be tourists. We were late to leave the hotel in the mornings because of the breakfasts, and we were back early every evening to relax at the bar and nap before dinner!
