It is located in Gianicolo (or Janiculum), the hill that affords the best view of Rome, very close to the center and with perfect view in the river Tiveris. I visited with my family 2 weeks ago in order to spend Easter holidays. The entrance fascinated us from the first moment as it is surrounded by marvellous gardens which lead in the main building. The classical architecture outside the building is absolutely combined with the interior modern design. The facilities and the amenities reflect the quality level of a 5 star hotel.A pleasant supplement to our stay in Rome was the politeness and the willingness of the staff. A special reference to 2 people of the front desk, Mr Carlos and Mrs Michaella, who were very kind and helpful in any of our demand.

Stayed here a couple of years ago. This is a great hotel. Impeccable service. Beautifully decorated rooms, clean and tidy. Love the shower! The location is great only being a short walk to the Vatican. The breakfast spread was delicious. Could not fault the service. Expensive but well worth it.

Glorious former Villa Agrippina set on a very private, walled site. Building is grand and slightly forbidding but the staff are universally helpful and friendly. By Rome standards the rooms are a good size, beautifully furnished with great bathrooms. The waterfall shower is superb. Unusually, this early in the season, the large outdoor swimming pool was fully open. I can imagine how wonderful this facility must be in the heat of a Roman summer. The Gran Meliá is certainly expensive but quality always costs. Almost faultless experience; highly recommended.

Our travel agent booked this hotel for us and said it will be the perfect place to end a hectic 3 week holiday. She was so right. This property is well maintained, service top, room gorgeous. Clarin products were supplied in our rooms. I think I’m going to change to this product - the shampoo and conditioner were fantastic. The pool area was a slice of heaven in this busy city. We enjoyed sundowners and wished we could stay there forever. Beautiful lounges inside. Breakfast was a treat - my favorite being the smoked salmon and the cheese board. Only one complaint was that the shower temperature couldn’t get hotter. Other than that if you are in Rome and want to stay in luxuary and have a beautiful garden and pool area to relax at, then this is the place.

My wife and I stayed here in early Feb on the last stop of our month long round the world journey. The best service from the minute we walked in we were given a glass of wine each while our rooms were made ready, we were a little early. The staff were brilliant, location great. Couldn’t of asked for better on our first trip to Rome
