Reviews for Grand Hotel de la Minerve
What a great location. 30 seconds to the front of The Pantheon 10 minutes to many main attractions and 30 minutes tops to Vatican for a healthy walker. If you don’t want to walk, small taxi rank outside hotel, budget 10 euros as an average cab fare. All real easy. Hotel was clean and well equipped. The staff are the most helpful, polite and friendly bunch I have ever come across in Italy. Although the Hotel was not cheap, we wanted a decent place with great location and that’s what we got. We didn’t bother with the breakfasts as in our opinion we felt it a tad pricey at 35 euro per person. We ate breakfast in the Pantheon square , first place on right next to fountain, waiters in red coats. Excellent food, tea coffee, great service. The only reasons I gave only 4 stars is a typicall English moan , no kettle for making tea when ever we wanted. 16 Euro for a brew room service! The upshot was my wife who is terribly diplomatic and persuasive asked for a kettle and we got one. We bought a pint of milk and pack of tea and we where happy English abroad ! Second small gripe, room very warm at night. Rectified by leaving windows open as we went out for evening meal. Can’t reiterate how pleasant staff were.

We stayed here for 3 nights while on a Tauck Tour in October, 2017. The location is excellent. About a block from the Pantheon – walkable to Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. The lobby is gorgeous – large and open with a high glass ceiling. The check in staff were very friendly and efficient. The hotel, like most downtown Rome hotels, is older. The elevators are small but always came quickly. The room itself was on the smallish side, though nicely decorated – nothing lavish but very nice. The bathroom was large and well lit – fixtures were lovely and the shower was large and had good hot water. The wifi worked well and consistently. One of the hotel’s claims to fame is a rooftop terrace for morning breakfast. We ate breakfast and watched the Roman dawn on consecutive days. All in all a great stay.

This is my go to hotel while staying in Rome with my husband. You will not be disappointed. Located right around the corner from the Pantheon and up the street from the Piazza Navona, it is within walking distance to all of the sites in ancient Rome. You can't beat this location. The only downside is the two person occupancy on standard rooms- we have small children and the suites are pricey.

Great and prompt service. Room was nicely finished and spacious. Hotel team cares about their guest and make you feel home even in a 5 stars hotel. Hard to find this level of hotel in the heart of Rome . Walking distance to all the major sites of the ancient Rome. Fitness room needs an update.
I always stay at the Minerva when I'm in Rome - the staff is outstanding - I've known Fabio the doorman for over 15 years and he always has a smile and greets me as I was returning family. The location is superb and the rooms quiet and well outfitted!
