Reviews for Grand Hotel Via Veneto
Grate room, excellent buffet included, staff is very friendly, location ok, strange bathroom, it's large but not practical, ok spa in the lower level. It's hard to get a cab on a rainy day. Concierge friendly and helpful. I do recommend it.
Great hotel, fabulous services find the concierge who are great if you have places to visit. The roof top terrace bar is atmospheric & the staff are very helpful. The drinks / food is expensive but worth it if you want to treat yourself
Everything is great from location to staff and service. We will come back again for sure. Best help is the front desk. Very helpful in recommending the right local restaurants. Walking distance to everything g

Lots of fresh flowers, spotless clean rooms, precious atmosphere, attention to details. The breakfast is perfect both in quality and selection. The restaurant "Time" offers great choices of special food at very reasonable price. Staff is always very helpful. I would like to mention Mrs. Eliana for her extraordinary customer care skills. I will go back. I am picky: but I was extremely satisfied.

During a family holiday touring Italy we planned to finish our holiday in 5 * luxury, having previously stayed at the Jumeriah chain of hotels and throughout our holiday being really impressed with our choice of 4* hotels we were all quite excited to arrive at the Grand Via Veneto. First impressions did not let us down as the appearance if luxurious and typical of the Jumeriah chain, and check in was smooth and professional. On arrival in our room it was a great size for a family with 5 * standard and loved the Bulgari toiletries. The room definitely matched our expectations, and regular turn down service etc. This however is where the 5* experience finishes. We were booked in for B&B and keen to maximise our sight-seeing time in Rome, checked when breakfast started which was 7am, we arrived to be served just after 7am, where the greeter seemed surprised to see us and said wait till I see if they are ready for you.... Why wouldn't they be ready???? I would have expected a much more professional greeting and almost felt like we were an inconvenience. Service at breakfast was painfully slow, and I observed people actually leaving their table and going to get their own cutlery due to the lack of attention. We also were first to arrive and other people received their orders prior to us. It was not particularly busy at breakfast and their appeared to be an abundance of staff, I am just not clear on what any of them were actually doing as it was not providing an attentive service to customers and not 5* expectations. This observation was consistent through out our stay and was not a one off. We also visited the spa where we were the only people in at the time. Service here was very attentive and the spa was very relaxing after a busy day sightseeing in very hot temperatures. There were areas that did not appear to be working such as the foot spray and the spa appeared to be very quiet. I couldn't understand how to use the lockers and had to ask the reception where they provided me with a key. This should have been provided at the start, can't understand why they wouldn't have given me this at the same time as the towels, and not just left me to mess about for 5 minutes and then go and ask for help to be told I needed the wrist band key!!!! I also asked about the roof top spa area which I had read about and asked if it was open and the receptionist just shrugged and said she didn't know. We then decided to go to the roof top which according to the hotel information, had a bar, restaurant and spa pool. I was keen to see what the view was like so we went up, my son had already gone up as he got a better reception on his phone, and said he had been told off for sitting in the wrong seat, and he would need to move. He seemingly had sat in a restaurant seat and not a bar seat. There was no-one else in the area, and I would have thought a paying guest could sit where they wanted as he wasn't impacting any other guests. Incredibly un-welcoming! When I arrived up in the lift I followed the signs for the spa which led to what I can only describe as a messy building area which should not have been visible to guests, where someone followed me and said can I help you. I said I was looking for the spa, she was most unhelpful and I pointed to the lift signs. She didn't seem bothered that the signs were directing guest to the kitchen area and not the spa. The views from the roof top were very disappointing as there was greenery all along which detracted from the view. There was a spa pool but hidden away with no clear direction on how to find this. I also asked at reception if they could deal with some correspondence I needed to post, and was told no, and directed to the nearest post box. Never before I have experienced this in a 5* hotel which also has a business centre. I was actually shocked at her response. Is this really what this hotel deems a 5* service because they have the facilities just not the service and skills to support this. As we were leaving in the early hours of the morning I tried to settle my bill the night before and was told I couldn't do this due to the tourist tax and I would be better waiting till the morning . When we were departing there was no one on reception and the concierge had to go and find someone, and our taxi which was already waiting was made wait longer. The concierge was very good and organised the bags to save further delay. Very disappointing given our previous Jumeriah experience our expectations and excitement to stay were high. What a massive let down.
