Hotel of History and Happiness

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 months ago

It is a great location, in a historical building, with a staff and decor that makes you feel like nobility. From the moment we were checked in by Ricardo to having discussions with Alessandro via email prior to our stay we experienced excellence in service. It is centrally located and very convenient. Within walking distance of the Spagna metro station, the Spanish steps, and the Trevi Fountain it was our base for 4 nights. Our room was a deluxe double and with its teal walls and antique furnishings it had a refined character that was enhanced by the welcome note, bottle of Rose from the General Manager. It was a comfortable room that was hindered somewhat by the lack of view outside of our window and the narrow bathroom. Excluding the aforementioned, we enjoyed the room and housekeeping maintaining the cleanliness of our room when we returned each day. Dining at Cafe Romano, the hotel restaurant was great for breakfast and dinner. We dined outdoors for breakfast and had our dinner indoors. We ordered room service on one of our nights. All the food was delicious, but what made it all better was the service. On one night when we returned from one of our excursions, we heard a singer performing at the Cafe Romano Bar. Although we were tired from our day, we thought that it added to the charm of the hotel and the restaurant. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to return when the renovations are completed. I mentioned to Alessandro that I would love to get a tour of the hotel and get more information about its history and the opportunity to see other rooms. All of our encounters with the staff were pleasant and we definitely created some great memories while staying at this hotel. It is a great location with a staff that makes us want to return.

Great staff and service

This a great little boutique hotel just blocks away from the Spanish steps. The hotel is beautiful on the exterior and most of the rooms have been renovated (there is still some ongoing renovations). What I was really impressed with was the attentiveness of the staff. All of the doorman were extremely friendly and helpful. Same with all of the front desk attendants. We were in 4 different hotels in Italy and the staff here was the best out of all of them. I also want to thank the Manager who arranged for a room upgrade (along with a platter of sweets along both a bottle of Rose). It truly was a gracious act and was greatly appreciated. The room was clean and they even had nightly turndown service that also brought fresh towels. If I were to have any downside to this property, it would be that the design of the bathroom in our room was very narrow (although it was very nice and modern). The room also had modern amenities such as multiple lighting, electronic thermostat (with great a/c), and a nice setup on each side of the bed consisting of reading lamp, electrical outlet, and both usb and micro usb ports. I would definitely stay here again for any future visits.

Best hotel in Rome

This place is in the heart of Rome. 2 blocks away from Spanish steps, 8 minutes walk to the Trevi fountain, and 12 minutes walk to Pantheon. Not only is it close to all the attractions, but the hotel itself is fantastic (5-star to me), and the restaurant food is excellent.

The finest in Rome

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 9 months ago

This small gem is located near almost everything you want to see in Rome but is still a quiet oasis away from the hordes of the unwashed, unclothed and uncouth overwhelming the Eternal City at the moment. You will enjoy breakfast out the back door where you can see some passersby and locals but still not be crowded. Also, the hotel’s restaurant is the perfect place to relax with a drink or light dinner after a day battling the heat and the crowds. We always preferred being outside. The staff are unfailingly courteous and helpful making the place feel like your home away from home. If there is a better hotel in Rome, we have yet to find it and consider the Inghilterra our go to spot for sure.

Excellent!

Warm and friendly staff! We stayed here in June 2023 with my husband, almost 2 year old and extended family. We were given a large suite to accommodate our toddler and it made all the difference. The entire staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The location was very central as it was literally blocks away from the Spanish steps, and a short walk to the Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. Tons of shopping and cafes nearby. We will stay here again!
