When you walk into the Hotel Splendid Royal, it’s easy to forget the crush of the crowds on the Spanish Steps and the rush of traffic on Via Veneto. The rooms in this restored 19th century palace are quiet, comfortable, and luxurious. The junior suites have a patio that overlooks the Medici grounds and from which you can gaze at the stars during the pleasant Roman nights. Everything during my 8-night stay was perfect. In fact, the room was so quiet that I slept in one day and almost missed my appointment for the Villa Borghese Museum. It is only because the hotel is so close to the Borghese property that I was able to dash to the museum in time. The breakfast buffet is full of yummy choices—ricotta, mozzarella, tomatoes, cereals, breads, mushrooms, eggs, many kinds of cold meats, tarts, and other pastries. The breakfast room overlooks the Medici and Borghese gardens, with a good view of Rome. The hotel is very centrally located. Those who love to walk will appreciate the location. The metro is about a 6 minute walk from the hotel. The staff can arrange tours or a car for those sights that are too far for walking or public transportation.

This magnificent boutique hotel is located adjacent to the beautiful park-like gardens for which Rome is famous. It is truly classic with splendid marble paneling throughout the lobby and general areas. Our room was beautifully appointed and enjoyed a lovely view over the gardens. Service was excellent throughput our stay.

I loved this hotel. The breakfast staff were so amazing and attentive. The concierge were superb and went out of their way. It's so wonderful to walk into the hotel and they know you by name, it felt like coming home. Can I just say that the housekeeping was par excellence. I came back to find my clothes folded and shoes set in order. I loved this pace. Great breakfast. It is close to everything and so I did a lot of walking. I would definitely stay here and recommend others stay here... P.s. I rarely give glowing reviews 😬

A beautifully elegant hotel, perched on a hill overlooking Rome, this a very Italianate and luxurious hotel very well located. The rooms are large and the staff very helpful. We were only in Rome one full day, but managed to walk to many sights and stumbled upon some great and stylish shopping as well. The stay is expensive and if you can afford the Mirrabelle rooftop terrace restaurant you will have a stunning experience. Loved it!
