We stayed there for 5 nights, the hotel in my opinion has exceptional decor and style, including the rooms which are also comfortable. We loved the huge tv in our junior suite. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, whether in the reception or maid service or restaurant service. The food is excellent. However the restaurant is very expensive (but to be expected from a Michelin). A few negatives points are to be noted: first, the internet connection is really slow but i dunno if that has anything to do with the hotel or with the connection in general in Rome. Second, I found it really weird that there is no espresso machine in a suite in a five star hotel when that's something you'll find in any 3-4 star hotel. Third, there was a problem with the hot water, and we didn't have any for 2 days but the problem was fixed. Finally and regarding the location, we personally liked it a lot since it's in a really calm region with gardens around. However if one is looking for a lively region then this hotel would not be a good choice. All in all a wonderful experience and we'll definitely come back if we're ever visiting Rome again.

Well positioned for seeing some sites. Staff very helpful. Bar/restaurant very expensive - I was charged 30 euros for and gin and tonic and a cocacola. Room - no less that you might expect for the price. Breakfast - again what you should expect in 5star.

Hotel is nice and offers a good service the PROS are - Great breakfast with amazing view of Rome from the 6th floor breakfast room. Staff, especially at breakfast are very friendly and can't do enough for you. Your room is turned down every evening. Location is great you can walk to most sights from here. CONS - Rooms DO NOT HAVE ANY TEA OR COFFEE MAKING FACILITIES IN THE ROOM!!!!- this is the first hotels I have ever stayed in where you can not make your own cup of coffee in the morning!!!! Very dated decor- bed in our room was damaged, not what you'd expect from 5 star. No where to have a drink in the afternoon. Have to go out. When I booked the room I made a request for a room with a nice view as it was my husbands birthday. We did not get this (I understand this is just a request) but we did have a complementary bottle of prosseco in our room waiting for us which made up for it. Would we stay here again. - unfortunately not, damaged bed and no coffee making facilities. In my opinion this hotel is 4 star hotel and Ā£50 a night overpriced.

We last stayed at the Splendide Royale about 10 years ago and were very impressed by it. Going back is sometimes disappointing but not this time. The hotel remains stylish, elegant and very 'fresh'. As previously the stuff were charming and the standards as high as ever. Inevitably not cheap as a 5 star hotel but good value compared with many others in Rome.
