The hotel itself is great and conveniently located as other reviewers have mentioned. The view from the terrace where the restaurant is located is fantastic. The breakfast buffet was great (only beat by a hotel in Venice). One word of caution - we'd asked the front desk staff to book 2 tickets to the Borghese Museum (which is a 10 minute walk from the hotel) and we learned later that they charged a $32 convenience fee on $30 worth of tickets (two $15 tickets). We travelled to Florence and Venice during this trip as well and none of the other hotels charged any fee to help book tickets. Anyway it's not a big deal considering the rest of the stay was great but you're better off buying your tickets online.

In June 2013 our family stayed here and really loved our rooms. The location is great too. One element that we really appreciated was the honest recommendations of the gentlemen at the front desk. He sent us to places where HE would eat, not somewhere touristy. Other hotels' front desks and/or concierges sent us to places that felt "a payback was coming" for sending us their way. No thanks. Sofitel was the only hotel out of 5 of our vacation that recommended the best, tucked away, cool eateries. Bravo! THIS JUST HAPPENED: in Rome just now, In August, finding ourselves searching out one of the restaurants we enjoyed 4 years ago on their recommendation. We called Sofitel, described our memoriesof the place, he nailed what is was and voila, it was just around the corner. It's Pierluigi, by the way, and it is amazing. Thank you wonderful Signore at Sofitel! You could have blown me off but made the effort. The best.

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was walking distance to many sights. The hotel staff was very accommodating and the rooms were very comfortable. The morning breakfast was very nice with an amazing view of the city. Overall a great experience.

Stayed 2 nights pre-cruise, and thought the hotel was great. Breakfast was fine, rooftop setting and a good variety of fruit juice and cheese. Plus good baked goods and coffee too. Hotel is small, rooms clean, beds comfortable, and staff was pretty friendly. Location is great, maybe 15 minute walk to the Spanish steps, and right next to the Borghese Park. There are some interesting restaurants nearby, and the area was quiet at night. No gym at the hotel, but the park is close enough for a run or a walk.

We arrived to pre booked our hotel in Rome (not the Sofitel) after checking into our room we found the air conditioner full of mould & then on inspection of the hotel & the other rooms they had available, they were all dirty, poorly maintained & mouldy! The whole hotel smelt of mould! After trying to get satisfaction from the Hotel & Expedia for 4 hours & with no service, support or satisfaction we moved to the Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese! WOW, Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese you are so generous, great value for money, service is 1st class & your hotel.... Stunning! Best views in Rome, rooms & food! Thank you for taking care of us Sofitel, when Expedia & the other Hotel - will be named soon! didn't care about us! Some people might say the Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese is expensive, however, if you consider what you get for your money - it is great value!
