Reviews for Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese
We stayed at the Sofitel Villa Borghese for 5 nights and had a very good experience. Location: The hotel is located perfectly. Close to a metro line. In a quiet street with a lot of good restaurants surrounding it. Room: We had a superior room that was the perfect size. I'm glad we booked this instead of a classic room, as I think it would have been to small for us. The bathroom is done in marble and looks very nice, but on closer inspection needs to be repainted. There was a lot of water damage on the ceiling. And the door desperately needed a paint job. Restaurant: Didn't use the upstairs restaurant as the menu was a bit to fancy for our taste. The view however was stunning. Breakfast: Excellent breakfast, certainly for an Italian Hotel. However, was it worth the amount they asked for it, I wonder? Cleaning: This needs to mentioned. It was perfect, all areas are cleaned often. Staff: Here is where the real 5* quality can be found. The concierge desk is on of the best I’ve encountered. The breakfast staff is excellent and very attentive. Every request is done with a smile. Doormen and restaurant staff are also very good. Unfortunately the cleaning staff changed on Sunday and this caused some issues. Not all towels were replaced. The floormat laid down by the turndown service, was found between the sheets instead of on the ground. Mistakes that can happen but not two days in a row. It almost felt on purpose.

The room overlooked the VATICAN and St Peters. The bed was huge and soft, the water was hot, the mini bar well stocked, the Restaurant was really amazing overlooking Rome with ROOFTOP DINING and all situated on top of the Spanish Steps! Importantly every staff member is smiling and wanting to make your stay as great as it can be. BUT PLEASE go for the BREAKFAST! It was the nicest and freshest we have experienced in all our European travels. This one will always be the Hotel we go to when in ROMA!

Great room. Good location for visiting Rome primarily on foot. 5 mins from Spanish steps, 10 mins Trevi fountain. Superb buffet breakfast included. Staff at reception very attentive and friendly. Rooftop bar with amazing views. Would stay here again. We staye for four nights which was perfect amount of time to see what we wanted to in Rome.

Situated just about at the crest of a hill, the hotel exudes luxurious exclusivity that the Sofitel brand is known for. Although the main entrance is small (as is the Sofitel in New York) once you're inside, the Sofitel touch is clearly evident - from the lovely decorative centrepiece to the luxurious fittings and furnishing. I checked in on line so they had my key all ready when I arrived. Beautiful spacious room and the balcony was lovely - especially on a hot afternoon with a glass of white wine in hand. The Spanish Steps is about 15 to 20 minutes away as is the metro station which is right next to the Spanish Steps. There are a couple of cafes, small supermarkets, as well as shops selling lovely wines and beers, boutiques and a handful of restaurants down the hill. I've always had a soft spot for Sofitel as they never disappoint - wonderfully attentive staff from front desk to the lovely gentlemen manning the entrances (never know whether to call them bell hops as they are usually so much more than that) and the housekeeping staff who never fails to make sure I've got everything I need. Luxurious Hermes toiletries complete the Sofitel room experience. One thing I found lacking in the room is the coffee making machine. It's was sorely lacking and it's presence would have made the stay perfect. But it's absence did give me the opportunity to have breakfast at their restaurant (or maybe that was the idea behind it). The staff at the restaurant were mostly good. The 1st morning was perfect, the 3rd not so much - a request to top up my orange juice was met with a seeming reluctance from the female staff who attended to me. But all in all, always recommended as their Manifique experience is consistently maintained. Would definitely return if I'm back in Rome.
In the Spring of 2016, our family of four stayed at the Sofital Rome Villa Borghese, and we enjoyed it a lot. We were fortunate to have reserved a suite and were provided a terrific room with a terrace on the top level of the hotel, next to the restaurant. The terrace had a view of the rooftops of Rome, with some of the key Rome sights within view. This terrace proved to be a great place to enjoy coffee in the morning or a drink in the afternoon or evening. Further, thanks to the proximity to the restaurant and the great staff, we could walk to the bar, order a drink, and the kind staff would deliver it to us in our room. We liked the hotel's location, close to the Villa Borghese, which we walked through several times. Further, we were able to walk to several good restaurants. It is also close enough to the center of Rome to make walking to several sights possible, although with younger kids we elected to take taxis or Uber on a number of occasions.
