Until this weekend this was my favorite hotel in Croatia. I was a returning guest and was really looking forward to spending another weekend here. After having arrived at the reception, we were informed that we have been transferred to the neighboring hotel, Eden. As a reason for the transfer, we were given the explanation that there is a congress held by the Croatian Medical Chamber. I consider such reason an indiscrimination because a guest is always a guest, no matter his profession. We were also told that we have been previously contacted. My reservation was done through Booking.com website. After having it checked, I see that nothing has changed there and I was still supposed to be lodging in Lone hotel. I was not explained which was the way of communication. After having arrived at Eden hotel, we discover that our reservation was forwarded only at the moment of our arrival and we had to wait for the chief of reception, as the receptionists were not sure what to do with us. Since my profession is as well working with people and tourism, I am quite familiar with the protocol that should be respected when you are denied the service you expected. In our case, we've got a downgrade from 5 to 4 stars hotel, without anybody trying to summon us up the disappointment or at least to give us an apology to this disaster event. Also, I would expect a reservation change notice to be done from the side of Booking.com, as a service agent, not directly from the hotel. I am a frequent traveler, so receiving a timely hotel cancellation from Booking.com is nothing new and dramatic. But I have received nothing, except a shocking information at the time of check-in. To this day, I was a satisfied and returning guest of Hotel Lone and I was happy to spend the weekend here. Likewise today, my arrival in Rovinj was solely due to the weekend of relaxing at Hotel Lone and it was in a very incorrect way deprived. I would also like to catch the opportunity to say all the best about the girls working at the reception at Hotel Eden, as they really did their best to cheer us, after seeing how upset we were. I have given a poor vote for the service, as it reflects what we have received from the side of Hotel Lone.

This was my third time here and i will be there as soon as possible again. They have it all... great location, perfect view, timeless design, great staff, spacious rooms with ship like balcony... My warmest recommendations for Lone.

We stayed in hotel Lone in November and it was stunning. We liked everything about this hotel. Design, food quality, events in the hotel and especially staff. All of them (especially reception staff, concierges and waiters in the breakfast area) were extremely nice and ready to help at any time. They helped my boyfriend with preparing a surprise for me and they did an amazing job because I didn’t suspect anything ☺️ All in all, we are definitely coming back! 🙂

We've been here several times and the overall impression was never negative although the experience has its ups and downs. The most pleasant feeling is when the hotel is not full and you can really enjoy all superb facilities in peace and quiet. But the "problem" is that the hotel is really popular. And when you get there you know why. Staff is mostly polite and kind. Rooms are trendy, superb, really warm and cosy... the kind I would like my home looks like. The cosmetics provided are cleverly chosen and the smell of soap is pleasantly longlasting, unforgettable. Breakfast is included in room rate. It's various and surely one of the finest you can find in Istrian hotels. Though smoked salmon and frushi misteriously disappeared from the menu the first was quite adequately substitued with marinated adriatic white fish. Swimming pool is great but obviously has some heating issues as the water was colder than desired at last two visits. Fitness has ideally Precor equipment, with 3 threadmills with view over the park. Sauna seems overcrowded all the time but what else can you expect as the mini club offers so much fun for the little ones. Overall one of the best hotels in Istria with great managment and some flaws that could easily be resolved. Not to be missed and fully enjoyed.
