We are currently staying here and wanted to write this review while everything is still fresh in our minds. At check-in, we asked whether our room overlooked the water or the pool. The trainee on reception asked a colleague, who told us it faced the woods. It doesn’t. Our room overlooks the driveway and the rather rusty-looking hotel opposite. I’m not even sure whether the rooms on the other side have water views, but the description at check-in certainly wasn’t accurate. We’re in the block of rooms numbered 548–560. We booked a Premium Double Room with a balcony. The room itself could do with some improvements. The biggest issue is the lighting. There are two full-length mirrors but not a single light positioned near either of them. The bathroom lighting is also very poor, making it difficult to do your hair or makeup. There is an illuminated makeup mirror, but it’s mounted so low that anyone much over 155cm tall will struggle to use it comfortably, and even then it isn’t bright enough to make up for the lack of lighting elsewhere. The wardrobe area also suffers from poor lighting, with just one light serving the entire space. It makes it surprisingly difficult to see inside the wardrobe or use the safe properly. There are only six coat hangers provided, which isn’t enough for two people staying more than a couple of nights. On the plus side, the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are excellent, and the bath is lovely and spacious. However, the shower door is an odd design. It opens outwards, pushing the bath mat away, and any water left on the glass ends up being dragged across the bathroom floor. The room is fully carpeted. Personally, I don’t enjoy carpet in hotel rooms, and this one is a dark beige colour that shows stains and wear quite clearly. We ended up wearing flip-flops around the room. It took us several days to discover that we even had a minibar and coffee machine because they’re tucked away inside cupboards and aren’t pointed out or labelled anywhere. There is also an ironing board and iron provided. Unfortunately, they’re very basic. The ironing board is so small that even a child’s shirt barely fits on it, and it’s unusually low. The iron doesn’t produce steam either. Thankfully, we’d packed a travel iron, as ironing clothes for dinner would otherwise have been frustrating. One thing the hotel gets absolutely right is the bed. It’s enormous, extremely comfortable and one of the highlights of the room. The pool area is fantastic, with two connected pools and plenty of sun loungers. The only disappointment is the pool towels, which are very thin and well past their best. They feel like they’ve been in circulation for years. Guests also seem to be identified by towel colour depending on which hotel they’re staying in, although we never quite worked out why. The hotel has several restaurants, but there is very little information available about them. Menus, opening times and entertainment schedules aren’t displayed anywhere obvious. There is a concierge, but it would be much easier if guests could quickly see where to have lunch or dinner or what entertainment is on each evening. We only discovered, four nights into our stay, that there was live entertainment by the pool restaurant. It’s no surprise it wasn’t particularly busy if most guests don’t know it’s happening. The breakfast buffet is excellent, with a fantastic selection and very good coffee. The only thing missing is a toaster. The lobby bar is another missed opportunity. We’d happily have spent evenings there enjoying cocktails, but it’s so brightly lit that it lacks any real atmosphere. The walk into Rovinj is lovely. It’s around 20 minutes along the promenade and is one of the highlights of staying here. The staff have all been exceptional throughout our stay. Every member of staff we’ve encountered has been friendly, helpful and efficient, and they’ve made a genuine difference to our experience. The hotel also offers various classes and activities, but we only found out about them three days into our stay after opening an envelope we’d been given at check-in. That was partly our own oversight, but it would have helped if reception had simply mentioned that all the information was inside. There also isn’t much signage around the hotel advertising what’s happening each day. Overall, we’ve genuinely enjoyed our stay and would happily return. However, for the price we paid, the bedrooms and guest information don’t quite match the standard the rest of the hotel sets. With better lighting, clearer communication and a few practical improvements to the rooms, Hotel Lone could easily justify its premium price

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Lone in Rovinj. The rooms were absolutely beautiful – modern, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff provided great service throughout our stay and were always friendly and helpful. The location is excellent, just a short and pleasant walk from the charming old town of Rovinj, which is an absolute must-see if you’re visiting the area. The pool area was lovely, although the main pool is a saltwater pool. Personally, I’m not a big fan of saltwater pools, but that’s simply a matter of personal preference. One thing to be aware of is that the pool is not fully serviced which you would expect from a five star resort, so if you want drinks or food, you need to order and collect them yourself from the poolside restaurant. It wasn’t a major issue, but full pool service would have made the experience even better. If I had to mention one downside, it would be the exterior and interior of the hotel. it isn’t particularly attractive and reminded me more of a conference hotel than a luxury resort. Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely recommend Hotel Lone to anyone looking for a comfortable hotel in a perfect location for exploring beautiful Rovinj.

When we arrived we were surprised at the number of dogs in the hotel. At the time we booked we clearly overlooked the fact that it was a dog friendly hotel. What we did strongly object to was the presence of dogs in the hotel restaurant. We often turned up for breakfast to find dogs on people's laps at breakfast tables, and even sat on chairs at tables. Our premium room was very good and had a large en-suite, with twin sink, a bath and separate shower. The room was well equipped, very clean, and cleaned well on a daily basis. There are 2 outdoor swimming pools (shared with the Eden Hotel next door), and an indoor pool. Although busy at times we never had a day when we were unable to find sunbeds with a parasol by the pool. Putting aside the dog issue, breakfast at the hotel was exceptional. It was served from seven am until 12 noon, which was great as we could eat late morning and it set us up for the day. The food on offer was an extensive choice of hot and cold food and drinks, all of the highest quality. Waiting staff were, without exception, superb - very friendly, helpful and attentive. This also applies to the reception staff, who were lovely. Although ultimately not for us, we spoke to several couples who love it and return year after year. It is all about personal choice.

Excellent hotel. Greta location, and Rovinj itself is one of the most beautiful places I have seen. Restaurants and bars in the town are absolutely fantastic, and walking distance along a nice beach walk from the hotel

This hotel has been fantastic for myself and wife . We ourselves have been in the hospitality business for many years , and would rate this particular hotel as one of the best we have stayed in . It’s been done without any glitz, just calming decor , fabulous grounds , no animation around the pools , which are superb. We have never in our 63 years of traveling the world ever seen so many sun beds 🧐 not ever , even placed throughout the fabulous well kept grounds all well spaced out in all areas with plenty of parasols . The staff are a credit to the hotel , in fact every member of staff from cleaners , gardeners, room attendants, the list goes on . Food served in the restaurants and pool ,beach areas were always excellent and served in which we remarked quickly . Having read a report on this forum about it being a business hotel I can’t but think the author must have been feeling ill . It’s anything but , perhaps they like noisy, loud and obnoxious decor . This hotel certainly doesn’t have , it’s cool , dignified, and classy . particular members of staff whom we would like to mention were Josipa customer relations , and Danelio at the restaurant just off the lower pool area on the way to beach . Ravinj is a beautiful place, with plenty of restaurants catering for all budgets Hoping all of you awaiting your holiday here a great time ❤️.
