Reviews for Auberge du Soleil

Simply amazing!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Every year in November, my husband and I come to Auberge du Soleil at Rutherford Hill for our wedding anniversary, and we have the most relaxing time. As a couple with four kids, this Auberge location is so peaceful and a fantastic place to escape to for relaxation and excellent food/drinks. Between the attentive staff and the small personal touches, it is a highly personal experience. The Restaurant and spa never disappoint, and neither do their recommendations for other excellent local amenities, such as other restaurants or bars, if you want to venture out a bit. From the time you arrive to the time you depart, and every moment in between, you are very well taken care of. I can't say one bad thing about any of the visits we have had at this location.

Too costly for the experience

Soon after checking in, i noticed that there was leak from the tap in the bathroom basin. Reported it and an plumber was sent to fix it. Definitely this ruined my experience. Also no hot water in the toilet wash basin. Not sure why you charge $2300 per night as the amenities and experience was sub-optimal Also the spa was costly and nothing out of ordinary

Restaurant Review: Beautiful Setting, Good Service, but an Underwhelming Tasting Experience

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

This is a difficult review to write because Auberge du Soleil is undeniably beautiful. We were seated at a gorgeous terrace table, but daylight savings meant we couldn’t fully enjoy the view we had hoped for. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu, which we appreciated. My husband ordered the chef’s tasting menu, while I chose the four-course menu. Throughout the evening we received multiple additional amuse-bouches and palate cleansers, along with bread. Under normal circumstances this would have felt generous, but with the number of courses we selected and the surprisingly large portion sizes, it became overwhelming quickly. I also have a shellfish allergy, which we noted in the reservation and again with our server. While the server did acknowledge it, one of the unrequested extra dishes was squid — often a concern for shellfish allergies. I had to send it back. Later, my cheese course (which I ordered) never arrived, though it wasn’t listed on the final check. My appetizer and main were not to my liking, though the dessert — a gourmet chocolate cake with mint ice cream — was absolutely fantastic. My husband enjoyed his dishes more than I did, but he also felt the overall meal didn’t quite “wow” us, which we acknowledge may come down to personal taste. The restaurant is beautiful and the staff was kind, but the allergy oversight, unexpectedly large volumes of food, and missing course made the experience underwhelming for a special occasion meal.

Outstanding - truly a 5 star property

Outstanding grounds( including trail with art installations )rooms, restaurants, pools and spa! There is nowhere else I would consider staying in Napa valley. Felt like I was in Italy with views over rolling hills/ valley. Great view from room Arles 4 ( also great room)which was close to restaurants and pool. Everything updated and what you would expect from a 5 star hotel!

Wine Country Gem!

An amazing getaway for our 20th anniversary! The resort is tucked into a quiet hillside which overlooks the valley and has lovely views of vineyards. The staff is welcoming and friendly and is really what makes the resort special. Our room was cozy and quiet, the dining and service was impeccable, and the property was beautiful with a lovely meandering stroll through art gardens and olive trees. It is a perfect retreat from a busy world and we had the best time!
