Reviews for Auberge du Soleil

Best in California

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Auberge du Soleil is an exceptional property with beautiful views, elegant surroundings, and consistently thoughtful service. The entire experience feels polished without being overly formal, from the rooms and grounds to the dining and spa. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. It is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy Napa Valley, and I would gladly return.

This is a place that we will always remember!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Rich and I spent 5 days at the property - we travel often, and this property is one of the nicest, if not the nicest resorts we have ever stayed in. Ever Team Member at the property went out of their way at a moment's notice to be there for us.

A Special Occasion Destination!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

A Special Occasion Destination! We have been to the Auberge many times in the past. It is posh. It is lovely. The location is breathtakingly beautiful, overlooking the Napa Valley, where you can often snap a photo with a hot air balloon floating through. We have stayed here twice, and our rooms were so nice both times. They cost a pretty penny, but we consider it money well spent. We have enjoyed eating fancy dinners in the main dining room, and we have also had lunch on the deck in nice weather (we particularly like food server Frank), and a casual lunch inside the bar in the winter (see photos). We have taken couples here twice for birthdays, and we have also visited for our anniversary - they do a nice job with dessert for these occasions. We have utilized their spa services for both massages (John, the masseuse) and facials (Emily, the esthetician) several times. The lobby has lovely seasonal decor (see photo of springtime decor from April 2026). The exterior walking paths are flanked by both beautiful and whimsical sculptures. Upon arrival, the valet will park your vehicle. If you are headed straight for the spa, a driver will take you there in a golf cart. The whole property is adults-only. It is serene, quiet, and very classy. So, whether you are staying overnight on the property or visiting for just a meal or spa treatment, this writer can't really think of a time when she has felt more pampered. I am so appreciative to have had the opportunity to luxuriate and languish here in this very upscale resort.

Beautiful property, but book direct

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Auberge du Soleil is a beautiful and romantic property with amazing views, great food, and a feeling very close to the South of France. The only weak part for us was the pre-arrival experience. Because of the poor connection with the third-party booking agency, I would recommend booking directly through Auberge du Soleil’s website. Reservations were hard to confirm, there was no proactive concierge outreach, and we had to discover most things ourselves. Still, the property itself is truly special and worth visiting.

A world-class Napa Valley retreat

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Our stay at Auberge du Soleil was everything you hope for from a world-class Napa Valley retreat and more. From the moment we arrived, the service was warm, intuitive and impeccable, creating an atmosphere of understated luxury rather than formality. The spectacular hillside setting, beautifully landscaped grounds, exceptional dining and peaceful ambiance made every moment feel special. It is the perfect place to slow down, savor the beauty of wine country and enjoy a truly memorable escape. The Valley View Suite was a highlight of the experience, offering breathtaking panoramic views across the vineyards and rolling hills from a spacious private terrace. The room was elegantly designed with natural materials, luxurious linens and thoughtful touches that blended sophistication with comfort. The fireplace, oversized bathroom and serene indoor-outdoor living spaces created a feeling of complete tranquility, making it a place where we looked forward to returning after every day of exploring. Waking up to the morning light over the valley was simply unforgettable. Dinner at Auberge du Soleil was a masterclass in refined yet approachable fine dining. Each course showcased the very best of Napa Valley’s seasonal ingredients, beautifully presented and thoughtfully balanced, while the sommelier’s wine recommendations elevated the experience even further. As the sun set over the vineyards and the terrace glowed in the evening light, the combination of spectacular views, impeccable service and exquisite cuisine created an atmosphere that was both sophisticated and warmly inviting. It was a dining experience that felt effortlessly elegant and truly worthy of its iconic reputation.
