Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness in Sacred Valley, Peru
With its steepled roof, traditional carillon and symbolic cross, it would be easy to mistake Aranwa Sacred Valley as a place of worship. A jagged Peruvian mountaintop serves as the backdrop for this property, located in Urubamba, about a 30-minute drive from Cusco. Built on a plot of land where an 18th-century colonial hacienda once stood, this riverside hideaway, features a collection of historically-inspired rooms coupled with modern elements and a minimalist design. Architectural excellence abounds at every turn, from the glass-covered orchid pyramid to the 24-seat on-site theater.
The resort's signature restaurant is sophisticated yet relaxed. Culinary traditions are fused with modern innovations, resulting in a tantalizing menu of Andean cuisine. Dining takes place amid contemporary surroundings, illuminated by a soft glow of light. Luxuriate behind the doors of Aranwa SPA, a sanctuary rich with wondrous features such as hydrotherapy pools, a vichy shower and an oxygen-relaxation room. There are seven treatment chambers plus an extensive menu of comforting services. Aranwa Sacred Valley also has a permanent art collection and a rotating display of contemporary Peruvian works to enjoy. If Machu Picchu is what brings you to Peru, expand your travels by exploring the Urubamba Valley. Visit Pisac or Chinchero, where Andean textiles are woven into bold patterns. Pottery is also a regional specialty, and of course no trip would be complete without a visit to the Incan ruins.

Reviews for Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness
Our family stayed at this property for two nights as part of a Gate1 tour. We were most pleased with the choice of hotels. We found it to be an island of serenity in Peru's sacred valley. It was a world apart from surrounding area. It is located at the end of a dirt road. Reception was excellent. The rooms were large, clean and had excellent views. Hotel bedding was well above average. The buffet breakfast was well above average both in quality and variety.

Stayed at Aranwa for 3 nights while exploring Sacred Valley. Stunning property with exceptional service. Loved walking around different sections of the hotel, courtyards, church, even small movie theater. Spacious comfortable rooms with rain shower. Was perfect to come back after a long day exploring to a hot tub (pool was not heated and too cold for use in winter) and friendly bar service for drinks and food poolside. Staff very helpful in recommending local eateries and arranging transportation and then coming back to bonfire to relax with other guests for late night drinks and friendly chat. Didn't want the night to end! Especially want to mention Victor at the front desk and Laura Pacheco, concierge for their outstanding work. Every request, every question was attended to immediately with true enthusiasm and desire to help. We've seen Laura stay at her desk late into the evening working out some details, and Victor rushing between guests attending to their needs!

As part of a guided tour (Tauck), we stayed at this hotel and enjoyed the Sacred Valley area of Peru. The grounds are well kept, the rooms spacious, and the staff is wonderful. Our son liked the parrots and peacock in the gardens; since it was winter, we didn't use the outdoor pool but saw others sitting on lounge chairs/hot tubbing during our stay.
This property was chosen y our tour company. When driving in it looked like we were heading to the middle of nowhere. Turns out it was a little oasis in the middle of nowhere. It is an above average resort with a lot of amenties. They soft push their onsite spa. Couldn’t find prices listed anywhere, which usually means $$$. We stayed in room 128, which was sizable, with a king bed, two sinks, and a separate rain shower. Really nice room, HVAC, TV, etc., all worked fine. Note sure I would choose this due to its locations, but it was really nice. Plus, there aren’t a whole lot of other options in this neighborhood. Recommended.
