Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness in Sacred Valley, Peru

With its steepled roof, traditional carillon and symbolic cross, it would be easy to mistake Aranwa Sacred Valley as a place of worship. A jagged Peruvian mountaintop serves as the backdrop for this property, located in Urubamba, about a 30-minute drive from Cusco. Built on a plot of land where an 18th-century colonial hacienda once stood, this riverside hideaway, features a collection of historically-inspired rooms coupled with modern elements and a minimalist design. Architectural excellence abounds at every turn, from the glass-covered orchid pyramid to the 24-seat on-site theater.

The resort's signature restaurant is sophisticated yet relaxed. Culinary traditions are fused with modern innovations, resulting in a tantalizing menu of Andean cuisine. Dining takes place amid contemporary surroundings, illuminated by a soft glow of light. Luxuriate behind the doors of Aranwa SPA, a sanctuary rich with wondrous features such as hydrotherapy pools, a vichy shower and an oxygen-relaxation room. There are seven treatment chambers plus an extensive menu of comforting services. Aranwa Sacred Valley also has a permanent art collection and a rotating display of contemporary Peruvian works to enjoy. If Machu Picchu is what brings you to Peru, expand your travels by exploring the Urubamba Valley. Visit Pisac or Chinchero, where Andean textiles are woven into bold patterns. Pottery is also a regional specialty, and of course no trip would be complete without a visit to the Incan ruins.

It is an amazing and huge area which belongs to the hotel. The whole complex is really outstanding and very nice for walking. The rooms are nice but just mid class. The breakfast is ok, nothing special. Overall I found the location a bit overpriced for what you get. However Lamas, Parrots and other animals really fit well into the beautiful gardens with lots of exotic fruits. Overall, good location but slightly overpriced.

The Aranwa Sacred Valley hotel is located in an old hacienda right next to the Urubamba river. The hotel has its own beautiful chapel, a very nice swimming pool, a couple of pool tables, a cinema with one movie per night, a very nice bar, and an excellent gourmet restaurant. It also has its own corral with a few llamas and alpacas which you can feed, and some peacocks roaming the grounds. The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished. The only inconvenience for me was that there is no separation between the sleeping and the shower and bathroom area. I guess is fine for couples, but awkward for my teenage sons in their double room. We had dinner in the main restaurant and the food and the service were outstanding. We only spent one night on our way to Machu Pichu, but we enjoyed it very much.

My husband and I arrived at this stunning hotel suffering from altitude sickness. Living at sea level made our adjustment a wee bit more difficult, but never have we been so well treated while traveling! Hotel management arranged for a physician consult in our room and a nurse to administer iv fluids to relieve extreme dehydration also in our room at a total cost of $63 for everything! Certainly appropriate medical care and lots cheaper than the USA!! Thanks so much for this unanticipated but outstanding service. Our room was modern, beautiful, and surrounded by exotic wildlife and gorgeous grounds. Room service was spectacular, and our tea and soups were tasty! All personnel were very friendly including the manager who at our check-out presented us with a complimentary bottle of Peruvian Pisco for our personal inconvenience of missing dinner. We really cannot adequately describe how kind he and his staff were to us. The Aranwa Sacred Valley is truly a beautiful hotel with caring and professional staff.

It takes a lot to impress me. But I must confess, that when I arrived the grounds of this hotel, the breathtaking Beauty made my jaw drop. I came to visit with my daughter who loves hiking, and zip lining. We stayed at this hotel for 2 days. The Beauty and services make cheer paradise on Earth. I have travelled a lot around the globe but very few places have so impacted me. The grounds are extensive. The architectural design, the landscape, the color combinations of decor, the ambience of nature are so methodically infused into this get away fairy land. For me, I have no proper words to capture my overall experience other than simply " a dream land" I had a wonderful experience at the health SPA...UNNO where I experimented the duo sunas with hydrotherapy, finishing up with 60 minutes of total relaxation and rejuvenating massage by gifted hands of one of their massage therapist. I fell asleep. Dinner at the tastefully furnished formal dining with live band of Peruvian music..all instruments take one to a different plane of existence. Food was superb, pricing very affordable with large selections of dishes to meet every budget. Optional sitting around soft echos of the running waters, numerous water fountains, pools and hot tubs surrounded by trees and beautiful landscape. The rooms are large, clean , high tech and tastefully furnished. The Jacuzzi baths are stunning. Service is top class. Friendly and eager to please staff at your service . I rate 5 stars in ALL aspects. I am not getting any financial incentive to write this review. I hope you find my information helpful. I love this hotel and hope to return again.
