The dignified, turreted Rufflet's Country House Hotel is one of the oldest established country manor hotels in Scotland. This member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World is set in 10 acres of award-winning gardens just a mile west of St. Andrews and has been awarded 5 Stars by the Scottish Tourist Board. The main house and two separate lodges offer exquisite guestrooms and suites, all furnished with a tasteful blend of contemporary and antique styles. Fresh local produce and prime Scottish beef highlight fine dining at the Garden Restaurant, recipient of a much-coveted two AA Rosettes.

Lovely spot that we wanted to return to having good memories from a much earlier visit. On our visit to St Andrews we had looked forward to having afternoon tea at Rufflets, and had invited another couple in what we thought would be a special treat. We were disappointed in both the quality and the nature of the items provided. With all the good bakers and bakeries in the area it should be possible to assemble a much more appetizing selection of items to make up an attractive and satisfying afternoon tea.

We had a large family birthday celebration at this hotel recently. The staff were very helpful and professional. They could not have been better. We were in their private dining room which is beautiful. The large garden is nice so we were able to get small children outside for a bit. We were a group of 22. i would recommend this hotel for any such get togethers.

Exceptional hotel with wonderful accommodation and food. The room was spacious, clean, large bathroom with every amenity we might need. The staff were outstanding, helpful and kind.

We had an amazing stay from beginning to end. The grounds were beautiful to walk around. The main building and shepherd’s hut was perfect!

One night stay, overall pleasant staff, Daryl very helpful. Daisy and Max in dining room pleasant. Nice breakfast but dinner roast beef sandwich disappointing, so basic and no flavor. Morning breakfast was delightful, loved the yogurt and currents. During garden stroll met Logie the gardener who shared many gardening secrets. Garden is a work of art! Our room looking tired in places, rug stained, along with shower floor. Starting to look dated and tired in many places and could benefit with some updates. Overall overpriced for the experience.
