The large lodge was perfect for our family get together. We were 8 Adults 1 baby and 2 dogs. All en-suite bathrooms , great kitchen and living space. All 5 min drive from town and beach. Highly recommend

Overall good experience. Pleasant gardens and well appointed comfortable room with all necessary facilities, The lounge areas were very welcoming. Food was generally good quality, particularly dinner However at times the staffing level at breakfast looked to be too low and it was difficult to find a member of staff or to be served, This was not however always the case.

Pretty underwhelming, tbh…dinner was just ok, and the buffet breakfast was actually dreadful! Cooked breakfast was ok but there was no choice in the buffet of decent fruit, pastries, juice etc. Ordered orange juice with my cooked breakfast ( no other flavours were available) and twice it failed to arrive. The room was fine. The bar was lovely and cosy with a welcoming fire. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Small things make the difference.

It was the third time I stayed at the Rufflets as the first two visits were truly amazing and outstanding and I was very much looking forward to this stay. Unfortunately the check-in experience for my family this time left much to be desired. There was a family with a small child checking in right before us and it seems they received all the attention of the receptionist while we were just waiting for our turn for ages and really felt as unwanted guests. The receptionist was super kind to the guest before us, playing with the child, explaining all the attractions of the area, exploring the dining options and we were just waiting, waiting and….waiting for our turn. After 15 minutes when we thought that we would finally get her attention, the lady looked at us, smiled nicely whispering that she would be back in a minute and…disappeared walking the guests to their room. We really felt like second-category guests and this is definitely not a kind of welcome and quality I would expect from this kind of a hotel. Luckily for us some other lady came after some time and asked if we were waiting for something (really???). I do understand and recognize the need to take good care of the guests during the check in process. Having stayed in numerous best class hotels I expect the same. But perhaps some more attention should be paid also to these second guests in the line?? Very disappointing this time…Not sure if we come to the Rufflets again.
