We stayed here with 2 kids. We made the mistake of getting a standard room - it was tight. That said, the hotel is beautiful. We loved the fact the room was serviced twice / day (so we never had wet towels lying around). The restaurant was good… the valet and bellmen were nice. The room was slightly dated (carpet separated from the wall, cracks in the tub, leaky faucet, pool was lined and not tiled). Not a big deal whatsoever- but that’s the reason we can’t give 5 stars. Also, after checkout I had to ask for the folio 4 times which I found odd. We would absolutely stay here again as it was central to everything.

Although the guaranteed check in time is 4 p.m. a room was not made available until 4:45 pm. I had prepaid for a Premium Room. I was taken to a corner room on the second floor with window overlooking the pool. The smell of chlorine was nauseating and overpowering. I went back to the front desk, and was told there would be a further wait for other rooms becoming available. After about 20 minutes I was taken to a room on the third floor which was small and clearly not a premium room. Then I was taken to another room on the second floor and when the bellman opened the door he immediately turned around and said it smelled terrible. I was taken back to reception, and waited. A manager came over and asked what the problem was even though I had explained that I would not stay in a room smelling of chlorine (and it was not Clorox used by the maids to clean the room, as the Manager professed). At close to 5:30 I was taken to a room on the fourth floor overlooking the street, which was a premium room. There were no guides in the room (i.e. room service menu, checkout time information - nothing). Although a “resort fee” is charged there are no amenities in this property - no breakfast is served, no lobby shop or other amenities. If Starbucks had not been located in one corner of the property, there would have been no place for coffee. The interior is dark, damp and dingy. It is overpriced, and terrible. On the second day of our stay, the room had still not been cleaned at 4 pm when we returned. I would never stay in another “Autograph” property and am frankly surprised that this hotel is considered one.

Recently had a wonderful stay at the Casa Monica; have stayed here previously but it had been a couple years. The hotel and room were very clean and comfortable. Love all the art hanging in the hallways. Always enjoy their hotel bar, nice atmosphere. My only complaint is that the housekeeper was knocking on our door promptly at 8:00am. We were still in bed and unfortunately now wide awake. If check-out time is 11:0am then housekeeping shouldn't be banging on doors any earlier than that. Don't they get a list of who is checking out?

This hotel is in an excellent spot a close to walking to most shopping and restaurants in the historic District. Upon checking in valet was excellent, and they took our bags up to our room and parked our car in a secure place. Front desk, staff was amazing very professional, even offering champagne upon check-in. Rooms were very clean with top-notch bathroom amenities. Before retiring for the night room service came to our door asking if we need anything else offering bottled water and coffee before they left for the evening. Their rooms are a little outdated, but is to be expected of this older historic hotel. I found it comfortable and quaint. We were a little disappointed we did not encounter any of the talked about paranormal activity for this older hotel. It is supposed to be one of the most haunted in the city of Saint Augustine. We will definitely be back thank you for the great stay.

Excellent service, beautiful hotel inside & out, character reflecting the St Augustine history, spacious room, good pool, very quiet central location - everywhere is walkable, restaurant's grilled bronzino with romesco sauce magnificent, room refresh superb, what's not to like?
