Reviews for Hotel Christopher
We traveled to St Barths between 4/18 thru 4/25/2017, Tuesday to Tuesday a great time too travel without the crowds? We stayed at the Hotel Christopher a great Hotel with approx 42 rooms, great views of the Ocean with breaking waves big enough to handle local surfers and some timely whale watching along with beautiful sunsets, although there is no beach, the rough surf really makes up for it watching the local surfers and hearing the waves break during the evening. We chose this Hotel for its value and free car rental and daily buffet breakfast which is all part of the package. We stayed on the first floor ocean view and less than 20 yards from the pool area. There is a gym on the property small but functional, The conserierge and valet staff along with the reception were outstanding, extremely friendly and helpful, A few tips on beach going! Sereno Beach was beautiful as was Govenors beach, i would recomend a lunch at the Tom beach hotel and you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas for the day and more importantly you are about a good 100 yards away from Eden Rock, Im glad i went to Eden rock for s drink and as my wife pointed out "Really" nothing special way overpriced if your 28 thru 40 and want a diff vibe Ok? otherwise i would not waste my time. we are 50 and felt it was too crowded. Another great beach for casual lunch would be Shallona in Gustavia great views nice location. Our favorite rest and spots were Bonito in Gustavia our first night great views excellent food, We also favored Maya's a family owned rest. on the water in Gustavia. Down by salen beach is a rest. called L'Espirit (my favorite) another must for lunch is Cheval Blanc great food great beach i would have loved too stay here? had i known the location. all in all the hotel Christopher for value location etc was well worth it, if you need too spend 1200 a night go too La sereno or Cheval Blanc since im not in my room that much i'd rather spend the money on expensive wine and food, The hotel Christopher is a legit 4 star for the island, and the staff was great, also a great Hotel for Kids as well. Another classy note? My wife misplaced her Rolex watch! and we notified the hotel when we got home, feeling we must of left it behind, well they found it and called us just today and is sending it back too us, I think that says a lot about the style and ethical management of the hotel, We will def. come back and highly recommend this property

This Hotel was amazing, I feel it was a great location with exquisite view of the ocean. The rough water allowed for some local surfers too indulge in some nice surfing , We eve witnessed a few whales swimming 100- some yards off the hotel property. Beautiful sunsets almost every day. The hotel staff was amazing and the concierge and valet staff were more than accommodating, We had a car rental as part of the package along with buffet breakfast. I recommend a rental car!!!, A small Gym was on the property if you need it, We ate out almost every night, We started at Bonito in Gustavia highly recommend this place, then the next night at Maya's, great family rest on thewater as well ! Lunch at Cheval Blanc is a must great location great hotel. My favorite place. (Expensive) , I also loved L'Espirit rest. down by Salene Beach a must go too beach ! Governors beach is excellent, Also an excellent spot for apps and wine/drinks is Shallona rest/beach very casual great location in Gaustavia, We also visited Tom Beach Hotel for lunch and rented chairs and umbrellas for the day, this location is about 100 yards from Eden Rock, I had a few drinks at Eden and I don't get it not my kind of place! If your young 30-40 Im 50 its a great vibe highly overpriced and not worth it, We visited almost all the hotels and went at the end of the season April 18th thru April 25th a perfect time too go, La Sereno is a Wonderfull hotel, so is Cheval Blanc, But you will pay almost double, Since this was our first visit too this island I felt the Hotel Christopher was a steal I hate when people boast as to where they have stayed but I ve been too many nice 4 and five star hotels around the world and although the Christopher is not a five star it is a four star hotel and well worth the stay, So I'm not an amateur at traveling, I hope this helps many indecisive people who are thinking of going to St. Barths and don't know where too stay? I spend most of my money at great restaurants and fine wine so if I can find a get hotel thats not a 1200 a night stay I d rather enjoy a great meal with a great wine list, because I'm never in my room

The hotel is beautifully set into the hillside with an amazing ocean view. The service, food and accomodations were wonderful. I received a phone call the day before from the hotel to confirm my flight and arrival. The friendly driver was waiting for me upon arrival in St Bart's and when the other guests were delayed, he got me a cab to the hotel. The front desk and concierge staff were always available and helpful with maps and information about hikes, beaches, restaurants and shopping. Overall, The service at the hotel was excellent. It seemed all the rooms had great views of the ocean and they were modern and stylish in an understated organic way. The large pool overlooked the ocean and was the perfect temperature. Lounge chairs were always available and the layout allowed for separation among guests if you like some privacy. It was a mellow and relaxing vibe with a mix of couples, families and friend grouped around the pool. I would definitely go back. So my only reasons for not giving it a 5 is there is not a beach where you can swim and you can't really walk anywhere from the hotel but I would still go back! Can't say enough about the setting snd service.

My husband and I just returned from a long weekend in Ste Barths. Based on friends, we stayed at the Christopher. A perfect location, central to everything yet away from the tourists and noise. The resort itself is beautiful. Although they do not have a beach, they have a wonderful swimming pool, overlooking a rocky beach. With breakfast and a car included, this is the best value on the island. The only teeny, tiny suggestions: the rooms are a little dated and the waiters need a little more training (the rest of the staff are fantastic).

This is by far one if the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at. The grounds are plush, the rooms are super clean and the views are so tranquil. The rooms have huge windows that open and the air quality on this island is so clean and pure. I have traveled to many countries and I can say this is one if my top 3 hotels in the world. It's close to Nikki Beach too so you can head over on Sunday after the beach party.
