Aman Le Melezin in Saint-Bon-Tarentaise, France

Aman Le Mélézin is set directly on the Bellecôte piste, perched 1,850 metres above sea level in Courchevel 1850, in the heart of Les Trois Vallées. Ski beneath snow-dusted fir trees and enjoy the village’s convivial après-ski. Set on the Bellecôte piste, with ski-in and ski-out access, Aman Le Mélézin is ideally positioned to take advantage of the 600 kilometres of groomed pistes in Les Trois Vallées. Other wintertime pursuits include snowshoeing and snowmobiling, as well as tobogganing down to Courchevel 1550 on the two-kilometre run, lit up for après-ski enjoyment.

Combining comfort and style, Aman Le Mélézin’s Chambres and Suites frame picture-postcard views of snowy mountains rearing against the Alpine sky. Cedar-panelled ceilings and walls create a cozy chalet feel while large picture windows draw the eye out to the magnificent scenery – even from the bathtub in many suites. Most suites feature balconies and separate living rooms. Our dining facility is open to guests and non-residents. Contemporary French cuisine is a highlight of the Restaurant, with emphasis on organic local produce, the region’s renowned Beaufort cheese and locally reared meat and poultry. Complementing the cuisine are the cozy settings, small candlelit tables, an array of regional Savoyard wines that perfectly suit the menu, and the locally distilled génépi, an herb-infused liqueur. The restorative treatments at the Spa are drawn from around the world and provide nourishing heat and moisture to soothe body and mind after a day on the slopes. Massages, facials and specialized foot and hand therapies are joined by private yoga sessions in the four treatment rooms and gym. Further relaxation can be found at the hammam, heated pool and Jacuzzi.

We have been coming to Le Melezin for the best part of 18 years, and it never fails to wow us. There have been a number of changes since our last visit (and I believe more are on the way) and they are all for the better. Great to have breakfast included and a choice of restaurants for demi-pension. Service, under the wonderful Tim Weiland, and of course with Alexandra at his right hand, is exemplary and his team are lovely. You really feel like you're coming home, with so many familiar faces, year after year - being from the hospitality world, I tend to be hyper-critical, and there was nothing to criticise! The style and decor hasn't aged, and it leaves the newer hotels in it's trail in this regard. We're looking forward to our stay next year.

Quite possibly the best ski hotel I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. One of the best locations for ski in ski out with dedicated staff to get you in the boots and out. The food was great but restaurant decor could do with a freshen. Best to eat out in the evenings as there are many wonderful places near by. Our room faced the slopes so we could watch the late comers slide past at tea time. Room heating was fab. We almost always had the doors open when sunny. Staff were very polite and helpful making sure we would have reservations when required. would have liked a better table at La Folie Douce however. Next time. Yes this a hotel I wouldn't hesitate to return to. It seemed that many of it's occupants had been many times before. always a good sign. My tip would be to plan ahead and book early. Spa was fab although the peace of my 1 hour massage was disrupted by the sound of someone thudding away on the running machine (as if skiing every day is not enough exercize). Gym too close to the spa area guys!!! The bar had some lovely cocktails and great afternoon cake for that cosy hot chocolate post ski. All in all, I loved this place. Amanamazing as usual. Off to the Aman in Venice next. My new favorite hotel brand.

We have been regular guests since the opening of the hotel which was like a home away from home. Over the years, everything was run perfectly with attention to the smallest details. Unfortunately, this time we all found out that things were not as perfect as before which ranged from housekeeping to spa reservations. Towels were missing in the pool area, half of the pool was in the dark, food was mediocre. As 'Aman junkies' (this is how they call regular Aman guests), I am sorry to say that the Aman spirit is slowly dying there.

This was my first time at Aman Le Melezin. The hotel has an amazing location, specially for beginners with ski in and out in a green run (Bellecote). Amazing concierge and staff service, everybody really helpfull and trying to make the best of your stay. Great room, very clean, amazing view to the ski piste and with lots of area for lugage and clothing. Special remarks to the bathroom with was really comfortable, and warm enough. It felt like a family hotel, really quiet and calm. The restaurante had good food and a variety of options.

have just returned from a wonderful weeks skiing with the family at Le Melezin . Everything about this hotel is wonderful . The brilliant boys in the boot room , who are so efficient yet manage to do their job in such a cheerful manner . The staff in the dining room who looked after us with great care & knowledge .we enjoyed the hotel food much better than the food in Courchevel which is over priced & over rated . The swimming pool & Haman are a welcome source of relaxation after a hard days skiing ,The shuttle service which the hotel provide to and from the village is great ,reliable & always available . i would like to make special mention of Henri the concierge , After we left the hotel my six year old daughter lost a personal memento of her time at ski school , Henri arranged to obtain a replacement & post it to us , service above and beyond the call of duty !
