$51 Resort FEE PER DAY!?

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Overall, it was a very nice resort. However I deduct a star is because I am not sure what I am paying that is worth $51 resort fee/day for!? I understand the cost cover free valet, free towel for the pool, gym. But free shoe shine that nobody really use and digital newspaper that I can look up myself!? on top of that the room does not give basic amenity such as coffee/tea with kettle to boil water!!?? The room has weak shower pressure. The bath tub water pressure so weak that will take hours to fill the tub! I even paid extra to have a guarantee room deluxe king bed by 3 pm, but they weren't even ready and told me they don't know when it will be ready so I got 2 queens. So what is the point of paying extra!?

Wedding Night Disappointment

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

We stayed at Green Valley Ranch hotel for our wedding night. As a local I cannot believe how bad our experience was! My mom bought us a big suite as a wedding gift and put the room under our names. The day of our wedding my husband called to make sure checking in wouldn’t be an issue since my mom bought the room on her card. They assured him since our name was on the room checkin would be no issue. 8pm the night of our wedding we showed up at the hotel in my wedding dress and veil, my husband in his suit and the front desk didn’t even acknowledge that it was our wedding night (my mom also mentioned that it was our wedding night in the notes on the reservation)! Then they wanted my mom to come to the hotel to check us in, when we said that we called about this earlier they asked who we spoke to and my husband said “whoever left notes on the account that my wife needs extra pillows (I’m pregnant)” the front desk said, “I don’t know who this person is, they don’t work here.” Umm what?! So at this point, my mom’s card had been charged for the room in full but the front desk demanded that we send her a new link to enter payment again because she wasn’t there. She had to pay again for a second time and wait for the refund. Then my husband had to put his card on file for incidentals where they put TWO nights stay pending on his card as well (we were only staying one night),since we were staying in one of their most expensive rooms it was a bit of a shock. So we tried to move past this and enjoy our night. We get to the room and there is NOTHING acknowledging it’s our wedding night. It’s not hard to make people feel special and valued as guests, growing up in Vegas customer service is something I expect. It was such a surprise considering we were in a huge suite and they had hours to put a card or SOMETHING in the room. Also the extra pillows my husband requested were not in the room. We also ordered room service that night, another opportunity to do something nice for us… nothing. In the morning we woke up and called to get a late check out. My husband had also requested a late check out when he called the day before and they told him just to call in the morning because it was an availability issue. They didn’t mention anything about it costing additional money. The front desk let us know it would be $50 for an additional two hours. We said no thank you and went to hop in the shower. We had to run the shower for 20 minutes before the water got lukewarm, keep in mind we had showered the night before so it wasn’t user error. At this point we were almost out of time for check out. I called front desk again and the same woman answered and I told her we had no hot water and we weren’t going to be able to check out in time and I had to go on and on about my complaints about our stay for them to comp the late check out. She said she would send maintenance to our room to help. We waited and waited and waited, maintenance never showed up. During this time I wanted to have some coffee or tea, but there was no coffee pot in the room. This has to be a first at ANY hotel I have ever stayed in. So I took a Luke warm shower after 20 minutes and we went to check out. I explained our situation to the woman at the front desk and she comped our $49 room service which was nice but didn’t make up for the overall experience. I will never stay here again or recommend this to anyone visiting from out of town. DO BETTER GVR.

Birthday fail due to dirty room

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Come here to celebrate my birthday this past week. The hotel property is beyond beautiful. All staff is nice and friendly and waiting to help. My husband had the room decorated with balloons and rose petals to celebrate my birthday. Sadly, when we entered the room on the sofa was dusty and big pieces of white hair all over. We moved the the rose petals back and on the sheets was black hairs. Pulled back the sheets more black hairs. I called front desk and was unable to reach anyone. Inside the bathroom shower hair and dirt. The thing that really got me was the open body wash inside the shower that the previous guest used before me. I ended up going to the front desk and Anthony helped me. He was so kind and polite he gave me a $50 current to use on the resort. He also sent up the head housekeeper to examine. She also inspected the room and just apologized. The room was cleaned agin but still had some spots of dirt. I don't want to be the type of person to down play the hotel because over all the experience was decent minus the dirt and hair in the bathroom. The food on the property was amazing. My advance is just examine the room before you enter. Along with the price point of spending over $1200 for three days with resort fee. Over all rating two and a half.

Quality of hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

My wife and I have been staying at GVR for over 10 plus years. We usually go twice per year. The casino and hotel have always been exceptional. This time not so much. We were placed in a room directly behind the check in desk as opposed to being placed in a room I. One of the towers. Looking out our window instead of seeing the pool or mountains we saw a car. The sink drain stop was not working making shaving a little difficult. The stopper was actually laying on the countertop. We attempted to take a bath, but could not as the cold water did not work. Only Hot water from both faucets came out. We spoke with the front desk about it and they said they will call maintenance. They did but it took a while and by the time they came we were in bed. We were supplied with 1 small bar of soap for 2 people for a few days. Unacceptable. We also only had 1 bottle of shampoo and conditioner. Also unacceptable. Asked housekeeping to provide more but it never showed up. The toilet was never cleaned while we were in the room. I know some of these issues sound trivial but this is not the quality we have come to expect. I feel that because the room was comped, we were treated poorly. I wonder if the hotel is trying to save some money by not providing the same services they have in the past. I have read other reviews and they all are similar in nature. The quality of the hotel has declined. Compared to Red Rock and Durango, this hotel is significantly poorer in quality.

Do not stay here

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Poor! Did not make up the room.... The do not disturb light was NOT on!. When i called the front desk they said "we are short staffed”. Asked for a noon check out, instead of 11am, they said $ 40. My business seminar ends at noon. An old r u down hotel and a very depressing feel to it.
