Reviews for Laluna

Glamping at its finest

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We are currently staying at Laluna in the beachfront cottage and I feel like I am In heaven! The beach is private, beautiful and impeccably clean. The rooms are large and comfortable and almost like “Glamping” in the most positive manner. Tracey helped us replan our trip after a cancellation and she was most pleasant about the details. We have found the other staff members to be welcoming and receptive to our requests including the bartenders near the pool and breakfast staff in the restaurant. The restaurant is indeed Italian inspired and we have enjoyed our meals especially the Italian wines. Some dishes missed the mark, for instance the Chicken parm special, but we should have known that when offered with mashed potatoes a chicken parm may not be of our usual expectation. We did try massages in the spa and they are a do not miss opportunity. We also did the morning exercise classes offered and mostly enjoyed them as well. As mentioned in prior reviews, this property is not about Michelin dining or star studded evenings but the property had, for us, the perfect balance of activity, leisure, privacy and beauty. Very kind staff and clientele overall and the island is lush and worth exploring.

Wonderful rustic retreat

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We traveled to La Luna looking for a reset and are very happy with our choice of island and resort. La Luna is a rustic resort in a beautiful serene setting on a beautiful island. The rooms are large, rustic and have beautiful views and comfortable beds with mosquito netting, fresh coffee and any other amenities you would need for a tranquil and relaxing stay. This resort is not about sleek surfaces, impeccable service or personal butlers. What the resort does offer is daily yoga/pilates/meditation classes in an outdoor pavilion, a spa with Thai massages and facials in a gorgeous Balinese setting and a restaurant that serves good island fish and very good Italian pastas and wine. The staff is very friendly and makes sure you have whatever you need at all times. There was music at the pool during happy hour a couple nights and we appreciated that very much. We did take a kayak to the nearby La Plywood bar and had fish tacos and margaritas. Hotel has complementary kayaks, paddle boards and Hobe Cats for guests. The few downsides were occasional poor service especially at the Monkey Bar on-site…big lost opportunity there. The pool is a focal point near the bar but not super inviting but the beach and water make up for that. The owner did not interact with the guests at all almost uncomfortable. The food was fine for Caribbean food but could be better. Breakfast was very nice but Tuna was the special fish every day/night and that’s was a bummer. The nearby Silversands Beach House was the only walkable spot for a drink or lunch but the prices there were really high. We will return to Grenada a mostly likely La Luna for sure!

Unique and beautiful boutique resort!

I stayed at La Luna during a recent trip to Grenada, and it is one of those places that stays with you long after you leave. property is beautiful without being overdone. It is quiet, natural, and designed in such a beautiful way. The Balinese inspired cottages are private and comfortable. I love how it stands out from your typical resort feel in the Caribbean. The beach itself is peaceful and never felt crowded, which made it easy to fully relax. The hotel feels personal and warm in a way that is hard to replicate. The owners and staff are SO welcoming, and there is a sense that the resort has grown naturally over time rather than being built to impress. It was so nice to get to connect with other travelers and the owners in a small setting unlike a regular large commercial resort. Italian food is my favorite so the restaurant was AMAZING! La Luna is a special find and I recommend everyone books a trip here if you're looking to visit the Caribbean.

The serenity hotel

I recommend this hotel. This is lovely! The reasons why you should go to this hotel: - it is calm, quiet with just the level of music you would like; - personal is agréable, smiling. Always happy to help - lot of choices for breakfast and this is excellent; - restaurant is Italian / Mediterranean: food is excellent with variety of options for dinner - rooms are nice, the baldaquin bed is romantic The reasons to consider before choosing the hotel: - not a place to party! - location is far (10 minutes taxi) from everything - rooms are not well insonorised… you will hear if your neighbor speaks during the night. you might consider not choosing a double bungalow - BR are outside (but private and connected to your room), scary the first nights as you don’t know what you are going to see in the middle of the night

The rooms are beautiful with great views of the ocean. The food is amazing. The staff was friendly and ready to help without being smothering. If you are looking for a quiet tropical getaway look no further.

Laluna is paradise! From the moment we stepped on the property until the unfortunate day that we had to go home, the staff made us feel right at home. The food was outstanding and plentiful. The beach was plenty for four weary souls who wanted to disappear from regular life. The deck with it oversize chairs and couches was perfect for getting to know new people or play games, talk…just relax. The suites were fabulous and the bed was a dream. We returned to our normal lives rejuvenated and happy. Truly the perfect place for a vacation!
