We’ve just returned from a 14 night stay at Mount Cinnamon. Having previously read all the reviews our expectations were high and overall we were not disappointed. The staff were lovely, so friendly & helpful, happy and always there when needed. We ate 3 times in the restaurant and the food was great. Beautiful views everywhere, from our room and all around the resort. The Manager, Mark, could not have been nicer, and was constantly checking that we were happy and asking if we needed anything. The steps down to the beach were a bit of a challenge in the intense heat but it was worth it once there, never busy always clean and tidy. The weather was really hot & humid with some heavy downpours mostly at night. We got bitten by mosquitos and would recommend to anyone visiting, especially in the rainy season, to take lots of precautions and remedies! We moved from one room to a smaller one because we wanted to be higher up with a better view so we chose one of the new Cinnamon Suites which was great. The shower had a design fault in that there was no shower tray as such, hence the floor got rather wet - obviously we used the shower mat provided which got soaked every time so wasn’t useful in itself. The beds were really comfortable - unlike the beach sun beds which could do with upgrading. The first accommodation we had was a one bedroom two bathroom suite overlooking the pool - it was a little shabby & again could do with a makeover. The air con unit leaked slightly too. Unfortunately I was unwell during my stay so didn’t feel like doing any sightseeing, but next time I definitely will as I’m sure there is much to explore. Overall we had a wonderful holiday with our friends and felt sad to leave this lovely hotel!

I think we spent more time picking which Caribbean island to visit than the hotel as once we read about Mt. Cinnamon, we were quickly sold. Now having returned earlier this week, can say it went beyond expectations and would highly recommend. Most reviewers comment on the staff being very helpful and they are spot on. Kudos to Peter de Savary and Mark for hiring the right people and providing proper training. Everyone knew our names and properly introduced themselves upon arrival and mde is feel very welcome. Rum punch drinks were next as we were checking in. The room was fantastic, great comfortable bed with nice view of Grand Anse Beach. Good tv with cable...Netflix...pod coffee maker, small fridge. Some additional comments: - the beach club Savvy has a great location and comfortable lounge chairs. They have 2 small Hobie cat sailboats that you can take out yourself or have one the staff take you out if you do not know how to sail. They also have 2 paddle boards, 2 small kayaks and one 2-person kayak as well as several pairs of mask/fin/snorkel. - The breakfast is great - BBC beach is worth the little walk and easy to get to (google maps was a little confusing)...walk up the hill on the road right in front of Mt. C, then down the hill to the beach. water is much more calm... - For lunch - La Plywood Bar at BBC has great fish tacos and is the epitome of a Caribbean beach bar. - Another great lunch spot is English jerk chicken down the beach right next to Umbrellas. - For dinner, we went to Umbrellas on Sunday as they have a band - Also went to Sangrias on the road to BBC....the food was fine, but forgot that there is no view at all at night...few perhaps better for lunch. - Also ventured to Beach House on Sat night...They start dinner at 630, which is after sunset...really can't see it there in Nov due to a big rock formation, but can walk down to La Luna along the beach and see it from there..have drinks, then walk back for dinner. - Went to St. George on Sat morning...the fish mkt is cool, the spice mkt is ok...worth checking out, but did not stay all that long. To get there, took public bus which is a large Toyota van. Caught near the roundabout past the supermkt. - The supermkt is not too far away and is pretty well stocked. - The ATM at the airport did not get EC...but there is one in the mall where the supermkt is located. - The cabs were 40EC to get most airport, to beach house, etc

From the time we arrived to the time we left a week later, the staff, beach, food and views exceeded our expectations. We met other wonderful travelers from the UK, Germany and other parts of the US. The Beach here is so beautiful and relaxing. Savvy's beach club during the day had the best fish tacos on the island and the best mudslides (frozen drink). We usually take day trips each day but the beach was so inviting and relaxing, we spent many days just staying at the beach. There are beach chairs, umbrellas, towels and tables for the guests. we brought our "floaties" (rings to float in the water) and relaxed for hours with our drinks in hand. The hotel is on the far side of Grand Anse Beach but other venues were within walking distance down the beach. Very safe at night. Dinner is usually served up at the main building but on Friday nights, they light the way with tiki torches and have a bon fire and dinner down at the beach with a steel drum band and dancers. just lovely. Our 2 bedroom/2 bath suite was perfect for two couples staying together. I won't sugar coat the walk up the hill from the lobby where breakfast is served, however this was the best way to keep the pounds off without really trying. Mount Cinnamon's daily breakfast was one of the healthiest and best tasting parts of their menu. Dinner is also great. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. Really the small vibe, the wonderful staff/management (Mark, Kevin, Ashlyn, etc...... was the icing on the cake!)

Parking up at the hotel, crossed the road and headed down a flame lit path to arrive at a beautiful outside bar and restaurant on Grand Andre beach, just wow!!! Friday night, bonfire and steak followed by drummers and dancers. Food was delicious and not over priced. Absolute perfection. Take me back! Definitely have a meal here if your in Grenada.. 10/10

This was my first time to Grenada and chose this resort in light of the new Cinnamon Suites and it was located close to family that was also visiting for an event. Overall this property was a good choice with some minor issues. Airport pick up: We arranged pick up from the airport with the hotel but waited for some time (and after a couple of calls to the hotel looking for the driver) we finally ended up taking a taxi. We would have expected that the hotel would have had the driver at the airport on time. Check in: Smooth, very friendly and professional staff. We were greeted with cold towels and offered rum punch. We didn't wait long for our room and were taken to our suite on the golf cart. Room: The room is exactly as seen on the resort's website. The bed is very comfortable, there is a cell phone for calls to taxis, restaurants, front desk etc, and a small fridge. We also requested a microwave which was in the room when we arrived. We didn't spend as much time on the balcony as we normally do when we travel to the islands (when you sit in the chairs the bars on the balcony block the view) but it is a beautiful view indeed from the room and from the bed given the wide tall windows and sliding glass door. The TV had excellent reception with many channels. The bathroom was a nice size with a closed water closet, and shower with good water pressure and temperature. Minor room issues: There is very limited drawer space for clothing. There is a small closet with shelves and a small area to hang clothes and a safe. There is also a dressing/makeup area to the left of the closet which should probably have been designed as a set of drawers. My only issue with the shower is that I'm not a fan of the rain shower head since it can't be adjusted. Food: Food was my biggest complaint (not limited to Mount Cinnamon). In general, I found the food in Grenada to be not great, especially compared to other Caribbean islands (east and west), Mexico, Central America etc. The breakfast was ok, great coffee but hit or miss on the rest and often cold. (There is a small buffet and you can also order eggs etc off the menu). The best options I thought were at the beach bar/restaurant and that food always came out hot. We did go down to the Friday bonfire night but didn't stay to eat but it looked nice. We were not fond of the beer (Carib, Stag) no local light beers (only Coors Light). We purchased wine/sparkling wine from the grocery store down the hill. Beach cabanas/restaurant: Great - the beach is wide, not crowded, clean and the water (though a bit cold) was very nice. We only tried appetizers from the restaurant but they were good for a snack. Staff: Always professional, courteous and helpful. Excellent and friendly staff. The management staff we met were also very personable. Property: Beautiful flowers about, very clean and we didn't mind the walk up the hills. The pool is very small adjacent to the lobby but we are not pool people so it wasn't an issue for us. One thing management should be aware of - on our last evening, staff came by as usual to bring cookies that are wrapped in a Mount Cinnamon wrapper. Since it was our last night, I asked if I could have two cookies (one for each of my kids to bring home). She told us she couldn't give us another cookie "because they check." Oh my, that's terrible. Not her fault, but really, management, you can't give out an extra cookie and you advise staff to say that management checks? Very tacky. Grenada in general: We felt very safe, the country is clean and the people are very friendly. The beaches were also beautiful. We probably would not visit Grenada again since we are foodies and prefer a bit more to do and see (we did take a 2 - 3 hour tour of the island). Tip: I purchased mosquito coils and spray at the grocery store. Even in the room, I found pesky nats or mosquitoes and had to use the coils from time to time but certainly outside.
