Just returned from our 1st family trip to Grenada. We we were amazed at the friendliness of the people, the cleanliness of the island/Mount Cinnamon resort and the warm staff. Mark, and his crew, always made us feel as if we were family. We have been looking for an "old school" Caribbean vacation for a while now and this hit the spot. The resort grounds, beach and rooms were spotless and very spacious. The restaurants at the resort and the island were excellent and very reasonable. My son and daughter were on a 1st name basis with the staff and always felt comfortable asking questions. My son wanted to give a "shout out" to his bud, Shakeem. We've been to Costa Rica and a few islands in the Caribbean but none of them offered the same, intimate experience as Mount Cinnamon did. We are hoping to return w family and friends in the near future. Thanks for living up to all of the positive reviews we've read over the past few months.

From the greeting with a fine rum punch and a talk with the manager, Mark, to our departure, every aspect of this visit was top notch, Very nice room with everything one needed, clean and comfortable. Great position on the beach, far from the resorts and cruise ships. Super food - both at the beach bar (try the fish and chips) and in the restaurant (could it be the best cheese omelet I've ever had?). We would go back in a flash.

I recently returned from a 14-night stay at Mount Cinnamon along with my husband and daughter. This has been our 6th stay at the resort in the past 8 yrs. It is obvious that we love it! It is a 10-min. ride from the airport with the resort being situated on Grand Anse Beach, one of the best in the Caribbean. The villas are beautifully set on a hillside with lush tropical landscaping allowing much privacy, and the short walk to the beach is through a lovely garden setting. The villas are immaculately clean (extremely important to me), and nicely decorated, spacious and comfortable. You can check the Website for the layout/floor plan of the villas to find one that suits your needs. They each have a kitchen and a washer/dryer. The verandas from the living room and master bedroom offer views of the Caribbean Sea with St. George’s in the distance. You can honestly sit on those balconies and look at the view for an entire day and never get tired of looking. We were there during the Sailing Festival weekend, and it was a beautiful sight to see all of the sailboats. One of the best features of this resort is the staff. It begins with the manager, and it trickles down to every person that works there. I have never stayed anywhere that has so many staff members that truly care about your experience. The Grenadian people are so friendly and helpful and want to make sure that you enjoy your visit. Many of the same people have worked there since our first stay 8 yrs. ago, and we look forward to seeing them when we return. Breakfast is included in the villa rate. Not only is a buffet offered with fruit, muffins, banana bread, cereals, juice, a Caribbean breakfast choice, turkey & cheese plate, individual quiches, cinnamon rolls, etc., but you can also order from the menu for a hot cooked breakfast. The breakfast burrito is amazing! Savvy’s Restaurant has excellent food as well as lunch offerings being available at the Beach Cabana. Several nights a week there are special events such as Mojito & Margarita Monday with music, Wed. evening Manager’s Cocktail Reception, Friday night Beach Barbecue at the Cabana and Sat. evening Tapas menu available with music also. The Manager’s Cocktail Reception is a great opportunity to not only meet other guests but also talk with stafff members where several members are introduced weekly. Another pro of this small resort is having the ability to interact with other guests and get to know one other, if you so choose. If water sports is your thing, check out the Website to see what all is available and included in your rate. Mount Cinnamon is within walking distance of a grocery store and a small shopping mall. There are some good restaurants within walking distance also. Grenada has many things to offer; fabulous beaches, waterfalls, rainforest, beautiful tropical landscaping, rum distilleries, chocolate factories, spices for sale in the markets and every kind of water sport that you might be interested in. One of the island’s best assets is the friendly people, and it is considered to be a very safe island. Be sure to take an island tour to get a feel for the culture. If you are searching for a small resort that offers a picture-perfect tropical setting with a friendly staff, excellent food and service, then Mount Cinnamon is for you.

The welcoming love of the Grenadian people can be felt all around the resort and island. Hailing a taxi from the airport was a snap and followed by an easy ride through a savory skillet scented hood up and over to the hillside manor. Lobby is dope. An open lobby with living vegetation ficus trees and such, a side pool; happens to be much deeper than looks, small 6 seat bar didn't spend much time there so no comments, and the breakfast/dinner dining room. Very good air flow and sight lines throughout the lobby, with a feel of older 78' Pablo Escobar villa or even older 1620 Spanish monastery. Walking down the torch light path through the flower garden to the beach for a Friday bonfire or a sizzling daytime sun bake was so precious We are there now. We decided to walk most places around but there is a resort cart for help due to some elevation changes between lobby and villas. Our room was beautiful and spacious with a view of the mountains the bay the resort the flower gardens the distant city the grand rainforest the small town it felt like we were looking down from the heavens onto Grenada. Is that the lights from the cricket stadium or a local football game? 10 minute cab ride to find out. So obviously the view was way better than the competition but it was the tap water that made our love list. The water out of the facet was better or comparable to any Poland Spring, Voss, Evian, Fiji whatever. Rainforest spring water delivered to our toilets, sinks, showers, and washer machine was a luxury. No trash bins full of empty water bottles or planning some activity around where do we get bottled water. We spent almost every morning and dinner on resort for food and beverage and we were very satisfied with the atmosphere, the people, the place, the product, and the price. Breakfast was included with the room so score one for the home team. Decent small menu touching all the basics such as egg burrito, beans eggs and meat, local sweet potato/squash, tomato. The Am bread was delicious both the whole wheat and white but beware of the birds they will get to it in a flash if you fall asleep at the wheel. Good homemade bread in the islands is a rarity and here at cinnamon it is on the burger, breakfast, and room service pizza. So offering only one item the pizza for room service is so smart i want to rip my clothes off and scream finally. The food is Togo and pizza travels well, is loved by millions, can be customizable, is still good when room temp, doesn't require utensils, cleans up fast, and limits the pressure on order receiver kitchen production, and delivery person. Too many choices mean to many questions too many moving parts too much consumerism and too many expectations and possible failures. It is more important to do one thing great than a couple things fair to good and if you are looking for endless consumerism it isn't here at least in room service. The people are as beautiful as the island. We shared names and smiles, take a ride with Chris you will have a really really nice time mon. Dinners are romantic and the fresh local fish is topped with watermelon and basil salsa local greens and starch, so choice if you have the means. We have a few more islands to visit but Mount Cinnamon is on our love list.

The resort exceeded our expectations. From the personal welcome from one of the directors bearing glasses of rum punch to the impressive view from the balcony. The staff are the nicest bunch of people i have ever met and all work hard to ensure you enjoy your stay. Do not miss the friday night bonfire and entertainments on the beach or the managers meet and greet in the bar on wednesday. Book Francis and his taxi for a day long tour of the island and buy world class chocolate at the Belmont Estate and 75% proof rum at the River rum distillery.
