Harvest Inn by Charlie Palmer in Saint Helena, Napa County, California

With an address like "One Main Street" you might be surprised at the country-estate style façade of Napa Valley's Harvest Inn, but you and yours are in for a treat at one of Saint Helena's best. Surrounded by 8 acres of lush, landscaped gardens under the clear California sky, Harvest Inn is the ideal destination to relax, romance, retreat, or meet in comfort and luxury. An attentive, yet unobtrusive staff complements your stay in an exquisite space that combines the luxury of a AAA-Four Diamond rated hotel with the intimacy and charm of a bed & breakfast.

A variety of living accommodations are available—from guestrooms with vineyard views, to suites, and cozy cottages with mountain views. Each room is unique, boasting its own welcoming décor and warm personality, so you may find the ideal space for your entire family. Guests with four-legged family members may book pet-friendly rooms so even pets can enjoy the splendor of Napa Valley. Delight in a bountiful breakfast in your room, or in the hotel's exquisite Wine Country Kitchen, and of course, when in Napa, do as the oenophiles and savor the fruits of the region. Harvest Inn's wine bars boast newly released wines from local wineries and complimentary weekend tastings for guests. Or, delve into the valley and sample a glass from each of the local wineries. However, Harvest Inn is built around the concept of luxury at your door; you do not even need to leave the hotel to have an authentic Napa Valley experience. Relax and relish a massage amidst the redwoods, or enjoy a spa treatment in the Garden Sanctuary. Guests who crave activity can sweat out the toxins at the new, state-of-the-art fitness center, or swim laps at one of the hotel's two heated pools before hitting the hot tubs, which are open all year. There certainly is much to see and do, but you will soon realize that even getting lost at Harvest Inn is a luxurious experience.

The Vineyard facing rooms have a great outlook and ours was large and pretty comfortable The bathroom and deck area are a bit disappointing somewhat old and tired Comfortable bed and generally well appointed room Nice heated pool and hot tub but somewhat neglected- no towels sometimes and tub a bit grotty Small but good gym again not well looked after no towels etc at times Restaurant and bar are delightful lunch and dinner are superbly done Breakfast though is disappointing no a la carte just bacon scrambled and browns served hot Staff in hotel and bar friendly and fun Pretty good overall but could do with some investment on updating rooms and more attention to the the facility

The hotel feels very comfortable, the lobby is minimal but the breakfast area and walking trails are excellent. There is not really a bad room. Even the rooms by the parking lot have windows looking inwards for a better feel

Its truly a gem of a place. It is certainly as cozy as one's home. Beautiful pool area , amazing in room dining, breakfast in the bed. The size of the rooms are quite large and beds are very comfortable.

The room was, large and quiet. The bathroom was bountiful. The best part were the grounds, the sculptures, art, the pool and the spa. Oh, and the terrific breakfast every morning. Lots of healthy choices. The staff was gracious and responsive. Who is Charlie Palmer anyway? Does anyone care?

This property was bought by celebrity chef, Charlie Palmer, a few years back and sadly, it's gone slowly and steadily down hill. Examples: It used to be when you checked into your room every guest received a complimentary half bottle of a nice Napa Cab. Now: you get nothing. Used to be the complimentary breakfast was GREAT.... Now: terrible. Grey eggs. Packaged commercial cereals. Think Holiday Inn. Just what you'd expect from a celebrity chef, right?! Used to be the grounds were impeccable. Now: not. Rumor has it that Charlie fired a bunch of the grounds people, and it shows. Pool: is open from 9am- 11pm. Went to the EMPTY pool at 1pm for two hours. No towels the entire time, in spite of requesting them. Was told they were being laundered?! Huh? They had 14 hours to launder towels...never were brought out. Overall, incredibly disappointing. We won't be back. Heading to Wine Country Inn next time. The owners there used to run this place and we hear it's great, just like Harvest Inn used to be.
