My first visit to this hotel, usually stay at the Fairmont, but as a Bonvoy member, I used points vs paying $1,100 a night all-inclusive. The resort was small, but nice. The staff were so nice, friendly and happy to help. Breakfast had tons of choices, as well the dinner menu changed nightly, which at an all-inclusive doesn't happen often. The pool was beachfront and the water was warm. Qwesi, the pool attendant/waiter was incredible, he made the stay. On the negative side, my 3 night stay, I didn't have a functioning room phone, and the TV on 2 of the 3 nights didn't work. They came to try to fix it, but the maintenance worker admitted they often have problems with the internet/phone/tv. I did raise this issue multi times to hotel management, finally Marriott contacted me and gave me 25k points for my troubles. Considering I had to spend close to 400,000 point on 3 nights, there offer to me is unsatisfactory. As i said to numerous Marriott people, "would you have your daughter or wife stay at a resort in another country, where in case of an emergency, your room phone doesn't work?!?"

Don’t believe the negative reviews! We were slightly worried reading some of the recent reviews but we had an amazing stay at The House. It’s a small intimate hotel, but so welcoming and the staff are amazing. Patricia on the egg station, Lisa, Andrew and all the other lovely staff made the holiday for us (plus, of course, Panda the House cat - what a cutie!). The food was of the highest quality and clearly a lot of thought put into it. We were there for 10 nights and the menus were different every day for lunch and dinner. Yes, the beach towels go out early, but we always found somewhere to sit together (and there were 4 of us). If we return to Barbados, we will definitely stay here again. We can also recommend QP Bistro for Sunday lunch and Lone Star for a sunset dinner. Thank you, The House ❤️

What truly sets this place apart are the staff. Every single member is friendly, attentive and warm. Jason and his team do a wonderful job in ensuring guests have a wonderful stay. The rooms are well appointed with fabulous views, the food and drink selection is great, and the beach and pool area is lovely. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and extremely well maintained. We have stayed in several hotels on the Island over the years and I would certainly say The House ranks amongst the best which Barbados has to offer. 10/10

The rooms were clean and nicely appointed. Bar service was good, but apart from the breakfast, the food choice was limited and not good quality. This is , in my opinion, is at best a 4 star hotel, there was zero recognition of our Marriott Gold Elite membership, the numerous front desk staff gave the impression, that they couldn't be bothered. At £1200 per night, really not worth the money, you are best booking another non-exclusive hotel, and eating out, the food choice was that poor.. Will not be going back.

3 star hotel that would have been ok for less than a third of the price. Ritz Carleton Reserve and Ritz Yatch are actually cheaper. While the restaurant staff made a good effort, the experience was ruined by the rude management. There was no recognition or honoring of being a bonvoy member let alone my Titanium elite status such as upgrades or 4pm checkout that Marriott claims is guaranteed. Upon checking in, the front desk wouldn't let is to our rooms until after 3pm. Notably it was about 40 percent occupied. I even offered to pay for an upgraded room and they refused. They gave us the worse room of the ocean view class. It was not a suite and just a regular room with the views partially blocked. The attitude of management was spiteful that we were even customers. they did not explain anything about the property including that you can go to sister properties. There was no welcome or welcome gift. There is no butler ambassador or 5 star service. We inquired about the welcome massage and told it wasn't available. There is only one restaurant with a limited menu. We were pressured to have dinner at a set time of either 6 or 6:45, giving it more of an experience like staying at a hostel. I did try their rum tasting but was a bit disappointed that no one new anything about their rums and the presentation was lacking. Our room ran out of tissues, soap, and towels. We had to fight management to get anything including getting our room cleaned. Overall this experience gave a very bad impression of Barbados and I don't plan on coming back. Punta Cana or Cancun has much better resorts with quality service at less than a third the price. You can sheer a sheep hundreds of times but only skin a sheep once.
