The hotel is well located for a visit to nearby Wash U. The rooms are small, expensive and offer poor quality design. The lighting was terrible! The furniture Ikea quality and the HVAC too loud. The room had no UBS ports, no lighting controls from the bed and the shower was tiny and difficult to use. If you self park your car (a 60 second walk from the entrance, you will pass by the area where garbage is stored and where employees go to smoke--both areas were dirty and unkempt. The Moonrise has those hangers that use those small hooks--need I say more. However, there is a fun roof top bar and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Hotel 6 quality/W pricing. There are much better alternatives.

My wife and I stayed here for an evening and had a good stay. We really liked the feel of the hotel and the overall theme was fun. The hotel was modeled after the moon/outer space. The staff was friendly, the bed was comfortable and our breakfast as good (about $30 for my wife and I in room). Parking behind the building was free and the area was quite. Will definitely consider this hotel again the the future.

I stayed at the Moonrise while in town for business. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Restaurant could probably do with updating the menu but the food was ok. I'd suggest getting a room that's not on the same side as the rooftop bar as it can be a bit noisy. Other than that pleasant stay with a good choice for local places to eat.

Perfect location near Forest Park. Beautiful hotel, and a fantastic rooftop deck. The room was nice, quiet and it had the nicest bed I've slept on in a while. The only negative is that it has no pool or hot tub. But we didn't have time to use it if they had. had friends who lived into the area and it was a perfect base.

This hotel is one of a kind! The space theme was a big hit with the kids. We were worried about the comings and goings of the roof top bar but it was no problem. We were on the second floor, which had additional security doors accessed with a room key card. There were no problems with noise although the rooftop was very busy. While we did not travel with pets, the water and treats offered at the check in desk for dogs was very cute. Again, my kids thought this was the best hotel in the world. The valet was helpful and gave us directions and suggestions on activities. We plan to return to the Moonrise (without kids) this summer. The location is also fabulous. There were lots of restaurants within walking distance. These were lots of original places like Blueberry Hill. We loved the Moornrise Hotel and recommend it very highly.
