The hotel is beautiful and service was great. We went for a friends wedding and had a fantastic time. All the rooms face the ocean so it could not be a more fantastic view. If you try to leave the resort a taxi ride will cost you 60 bucks round trip so you are kind of stuck in the resort unless you rent a car which we heard from friends was with the price if you wish to explore the island. They have a nice beach area with lounge chairs and service throughout the day. We did not eat at the restaurant on site but heard the food was ok. We did do room service which was good and the buffet in the morning is rather extensive and is included in the room stay. All in all a great spot.

Food, drink, service, service, service! This place has it all, and you can have it all. Came here for a long weekend. Will definitely stay here again! Call ahead to book a beach lounger, because without a res you may not get a spot.

Our party was a group of women celebrating a 60th birthday with two of them, we booked suites with one and two bedrooms. The beach at this resort was one of the best beaches on the island. Many times other boats would come up to let people off to snorkel near the rock side of our beach. All non-motorized sports were free. Our booking included free breakfast. We only ate at the lobby bar for tapas and the Trellis restaurant once. We had a rented vehicle and ate at a lot of local favorites, nothing fancy but good food. The only negative thing I can say is that we were at the end and had to walk quite a bit to get to the lobby, hay who doesn't need a little bit of exercise. Overall I was quite impressed with everything except the bill. This is a 5 star hotel with a 5 dollar sign price, so as someone mentioned in an earlier review if it's in your budget it is very enjoyable.

This was our first trip St. Martin. We really loved La Samanna. Our room was very nice. The service at the hotel was exceptional. Isabel, Julie, Benny and Pablo took care of our every need. They are exceptional at what they do. It is true that the prices are a bit steep. But you are on vacation and deserve to be treated, right? We traveled around the island a lot. We couldn't find another resort on the island that was close to being as nice as La Samanna. The beach at the resort was the most beautiful on the island. Many locals confirmed that the beach at the resort was indeed the best. This is a quite place designed to let you relax and enjoy St. Martin at its best! If you want a little more energy or night life, La Samanna might not be your cup of tea. If I have to criticize anything, I would agree that the prices at the beach bar are out of line with quality. We bought some snacks and sandwiches at a local bakery a few days to offset some of the costs. We used the Spa and were very happy with our massages. If it is in your budget, I highly recommend La Samanna. You won't be disappointed. We had a great vacation. I wouldn't stay at another resort on the island.

This is a very comfortable luxury hotel with good food, outstanding service and a wide range of additional services available. We tried the free pilates class which was very professionally delivered, as was the Japanese massage that I had. Breakfast buffet is reputedly the best on the island and we could see why. The bar offers good snacks and is a great place to watch the sun set. There are a range of water sports available, although they no longer offer scuba. There is good if not spectacular snorkelling off the beach by the cliffs (no need to pay the minimum USD400 for up to four people for a snorkelling outing to an island to the north). We had an excellent if slightly old fashioned room in the main hotel - a suite with fine views over the sea. I do not know what the beachside or cliff top villas were like. Only criticism is that there was no lift so we had plenty of aerobic exercise going up three floors. Only other point to watch is that the hotel is very very expensive, certainly for the British, even out of season
