Best private beach in a pampered luxurious spot on Earth, direct flight from Boston too.
Just returned with husband first time to La Samanna Resort in St Martin, on the French side. It's a quick trip to Europe as the staff all speaks French and mostly come from France, or Spain, since Belmond is big in Spain so the staff moves around. The beach, private and soft white sand, the warm blue water and the clean lovely cliffside private hotel is second to none. You have to look hard to find this kind of beauty and seclusion. We could not get out of the water, it was so wonderful and healing. The staff was amazing, the food was all good and the GM Eleanore was attentive and fabulous on all levels. I know we will return some day, this was a unique hotel. The bar with rum from all over was the best, with views of the sunset we will never forget. Beth and Bill Nast

We cannot say enough about this amazing resort and best staff team on the planet. Great hotel, amazing service, amazing attention to details, amazing beach and a perfect location!!! We were so happy with La Samanna that we are already planning our next trip back there

Definitely and experience one must try to have. We were welcome from the outside of the resort by the gate man so pleasantly to inside each and every staff member we have encountered was very friendly and helpful.

Highly Recommended
Not the newest or most luxurious resort in the Caribbean, but still my favorite. Pros: Beautiful virtually private beach with plenty of loungers and umbrellas. Beach Boys that are quick to set up loungers, adjust the umbrellas and serve food and beverages. Suites that are spacious, attractive and comfortable but not fussy. Very residential. Not far from the Philipsburg airport. 15 to 20 minute $25 (flat rate.) Cons: Noisey gas powered carts used by the staff. I can't believe they haven't converted to quiet electric carts. The property is not walkable to other venues: a trade off for the privacy and isolation. The landscaping is nice, but has the potential to be a real showcase. Yes, the rates are high, but the assets and quality are there.
