Myself and my partner stayed here for only one night, unfortunately, but we really enjoyed our time and the whole atmosphere of the hotel. We got there early before check in but they were very welcoming and helpful and we got treated so nicely and got our complementary rum/fruit punch. The staff let us know all about the hotel and amenities and gave us the room key ready for when we could check in. All informed for our stay we chilled by the stunning pools all afternoon. The service by the pool was also great, any drinks from the bar and food from the sugar club. We got the convenient shuttle service up to our room with a friendly driver and loved the room instantly, it was already cooled by the air con and the wonderful decor and space impressed us. The balcony was incredible, lots of seating space and we had booked a room with a pool which was perfect to cool down and enjoy the views. After dinner (we went outside the hotel) and once we got tucked in bed, we had trouble with a smell coming from the plumbing in the bathroom. We rang reception and they quickly sent someone up to take us to a new room which was very efficient. Unfortunately they said they have had this problem a few times in two rooms and have tried changing everything but obviously it still hasn't helped. I would hope they wouldn't put guests in until fully sorted but it wasnt too much trouble as we were only staying the one night, only a slight disruption but they swiftly sorted the issue for us. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was due the food at the hotel. The food we had was lovely but we thought there isnt enough choice, especially if staying over a week. Carmichael's looked lovely but there were charges to eat there and the menu seemed expensive but it is a luxury restaurant and i'm sure the food is great. The Sugar Club didn't seem to have many reasonably priced options and food may get repetitive over the weeks. However the breakfast was nice and pool snacks were ok so not so much complaint on food but of options. Overall a lovely stay and would definitely come back and recommend to anyone going to Antigua.

Unfortunately I was only here one night on route back from the BVI to London because I messed up my flight connections, however I ended up being very glad I had messed them up. So first things first, we all know the buzz word is "boutique" for hotels but so often they're just chains trying to be trendy. Well this truly is boutique, and you could be forgiven for thinking you're the only guest that counts. I was travelling alone in a country I'd never visited, but I felt as welcome as if I was with family. And the service was second to none, I waited for nothing and they're attitude was anything you want is no trouble at all. The food was amazing, I had a steak on steak 2-4-1 night, but as I was dining alone they gave me twice the amount of steak (I didn't ask them too). I also didn't think it was that expensive while I see other reviewers have said so. I don't think $28 for a good bottle of imported red is expensive at all! Will definitely come back but for longer.

Our stay at Sugar Ridge recently was excellent. There was a hiccup with our booking before we arrived, through a third party. Not the Hotel's fault but dealt with efficiently by Nafuna, who also personally greeted our arrival with a welcome chilled rum punch. Room No 16 was an excellent choice with our own private plunge pool and perfect viewing for spectacular sunsets. It was also beautifully decorated with red hibiscus? flowers right through to the shower room. We are celebrating our Ruby Wedding this year so quite appropriate. The complimentary bottle of bubbly though was a surprise treat. We were on the island for a Wedding on the beach in Jolly Harbour and our party of 38, were organised to the point that we didn't fully use this lovely Hotel's facilities although we did thoroughly enjoyed the eggs benedict and the steak and eggs for breakfast. The Hotel has a shuttle to nearby beaches all stunning turquoise blue water and white sand which does not hold the heat so, surprisingly, cool to walk on. We hired a car with ease from on site and went along the coast, through the rain forest as far as Nelson's Dockyard in English Harbour. Well worth the visit. I fully recommend staying here as nothing was too much trouble from any member of staff and one day hopefully we will return.

When we arrived they gave us the wrong room. (We paid for a plunge pool room) They gave us a 50 dollar resort credit which we used on breakfast ( we didn't get the all inclusive package) they changed our room the next day . The room where very spacious the view in our first room 47 was better than View In our second room. The second room 56 was further back. The plunge pool was so nice on our balcony. The breakfast was good , and they also have a grocery store that sell food not to far from the hotel ( sometimes a shuttle driver will take you there. they can't wait for you but they will take you) the shuttle drivers where soooo helpful definitely appreciated. Also Colleen is the best she was sooo friendly. She was such a good person to talk too . You can tell she really love her job and meeting new people :) we loved her. There is no beach on the property but its a very short drive. the hotel provides transportation to and from the gorgeous beachs . The hotel is veryyy quiet and it more of a couples hotel so me and friend did feel out of place sometimes but not to bad. I highly recommend this hotel !! I will be returning with a husband next time P.S they do have a little nightlife outside the hotel only bad thing is cab charge extra at night

We have just returned from a nine night stay at Sugar Ridge. The resort is set within lovely, well maintained grounds with great views over Jolly Harbour and the Caribbean Sea so there's some lovely sun sets on offer. We were checked in and taken to our room swiftly when we arrived and were also offered a welcome rum punch. We were staying in a king room with a plunge pool which was lovely, my only comment would be that the tiling in the bathroom and plunge pool could do with some attention as it appears to be getting a bit tired. The room was very clean and housekeeping visited everyday to refresh. The Wi-Fi within the resort is excellent - the best I have ever had in a hotel. The pools and gym available are also excellent. The hotel offer a free shuttle down to two local beaches, Valley Church Bay and Turners Beach which is a great service, the drivers are friendly and very flexible. Both Valley Church and Turners Beach are lovely. We also had breakfast included in our stay which is taken in the Sugar Club Restaurant. The breakfast was nice but the menu never changed so it did become a bit repetitive after a few days. A hot breakfast buffet would be better suited I think. The service was very good overall but could be very slow at times. We had dinner in the Sugar Club Restaurant on our first night which was very expensive for what it was compared to some of the local restaurants outside of the resort. There also weren't very many options on the menu. Overall, we had a very lovely stay at Sugar Ridge, the staff are brilliant and i would definitely recommend the hotel to friends and family travelling to Antigua.
