The most outstanding feature was the customer service on arrival and throughout our stay by one reception clerk in particular (Torrey). He went out of his way to ensure that we had a wonderful experience at SRR. The staff in the dining room were also very pleasant and engaging. The room was clean and the cleaning staff did an excellent job during the duration of our visit. The sounds of birds and the beautiful flowers added to the wonderful experience. The lower floor offers a wading pool and the feeling of being nestled amongst the trees. SRR offers a shuttle service to and from 2 different beaches. We chose a beach facility at Church Valley. The service and meal at The Nest Restaurant was great (especially the barbecue ribs and pork).

We were just using the Hotel as a stop over on the way home and because it was only a couple of nights and we wanted to rest up we went for the all inclusive option, which turned out to be a wonderful thing. Can't praise all the staff highly enough they all smiled at every request and went out of their way to look after us. Looking forward to a return trip next year. Keep up the good work Sugar Ridge!

We stayed here for a full week, Sunday to Sunday. Upon check-in, we were given an information sheet with lots of events/activities for the week ahead. The big attraction on the island on Sundays was the BBQ party at Shirley Heights. We didn't make it out, since we were exhausted from traveling, so we stayed on the resort property. There was a happy hour party up at Carmichaels, which was great. The walk up to the top of the property was a bit of a hike, but the view was worth it. The food was good, but a little pricey. And if you aren't up for the walk, the hotel offers a shuttle service to take you up there, so it's not a problem. Our room had a plunge pool, which we were very excited about. When we first arrived, it was a little dirty and the water level was low, but a quick call to the front desk fixed that. The jets in the pool are supposed to come on daily. It didnt seem like that was the case for our pool, but the maintenance staff fixed it. The pool is very small, but thats the point. It is supposed to be a refreshing place to dip, not swim laps or anything. I have read other people complain about theirs, but I enjoyed it. It was definitely refreshing, especially after coming in from the hot sun. The hotel offers an all inclusive package for $155 per day per person, which we did not do, since we wanted to explore the island and eat at different places. But if your plan is to stay on site, it is probably worth it. We did get the breakfast package, which I highly recommend. The breakfast food is all delicious (over the course of the week, we tried almost every dish), but can be costly if you are buying a la carte. There is no beach on site, but the hotel offers a free shuttle to a few nearby beaches, depending on the day of the week. The shuttle fits 8 passengers per trip, but the trips are all short, so even if you can't fit, you can catch the next one. We never had to wait more than 20 minutes. We went to The Nest and Turner's beach. The staff and environment at The Nest was way better. They were eager to help and were very hospitable. At Turners, the staff by the bar/restaurant acted as if they couldnt be bothered to serve their guests. There is a car rental agency on site, which was very reasonably priced. A 2-day rental of a compact car cost $90 USD plus taxes and insurance. If you are coming from the US, note that they drive on the left side of the road. The roads are very narrow, but people drive pretty safely, so it is fine. Just drive slowly and enjoy the amazing views. It was pretty easy to get around the island and see places that weren't that close to the resort, like English Harbour and Shirley Heights. The food at the Sugar Club is very good, though not cheap. On Wednesdays, they have 2 for 1 steak night, which was a great deal. The staff was very friendly and helpful, which makes up for the service being generally slow. The highlight, however, is the bartender. You will not find a friendlier person around. If you don't feel like eating at the restaurant, be sure to check out the bar. They have live music every night as well. If you dont have a car, but dont want to eat at the resort every night, there are a few good options around. Across the street from Sugar Ridge is a property called West Coast Village. They have a few restaurants/bars, which are great. They have a spot for pizza and chicken, a fish & chips place, a lobster place, a tiny bar, and an italian restaurant. Down the street (about 5-10 minute walk), there is a place called Miracles, which is fantastic. Reasonably priced and delicious local food. A 10 minute walk in the other direction and you will find Tannins, a wine/tapas restaurant. It was a little pricey, but a nice change of pace. There is also a supermarket called Epicurium, down the street from Miracles, by Jolly Harbour. You should take a trip there and stock up on essentials, since you cant buy a can of soda or other snacks at Sugar Ridge. Lastly, I want to point out that for the most part, the staff at Sugar Ridge is extremely friendly and helpful. Torrey was especially helpful, always smiling, and really makes you feel welcome. In case you can't tell by this point, i highly recommend staying at Sugar Ridge. Great location, great staff, great amenities. It was all I could have asked for.

I am so happy I decided to stay in this hotel, rooms are great!! you have the best privacy ever! staff was very very friendly. I stayed from 05/18 to 05/21, sadly I got sick and I had to be rushed to the ER :(, but thankfully everything went well. Anyways what I want to write is about how the hotel managed this, they were super nice!! they called us all the time while we stayed in the hospital, our phone did not work, so they called directly to ER. They took their time to bring us food and offered to bring anything we need from our hotel room, I was never expecting such a service from a hotel. I strongly recommend you to go for a pleasant stay at Sugar Ridge. Another great thing they did its that after getting to our hotel room from the hospital they give us 2 fruit plates as complementary! and always calling me regarding my recovery. I want to say thank you management for such a wonderful customer service, I really appreciate everything they did for me.

The resort is very nice and is just remote enough from the beach so you feel removed but in reality you're not at all. The rooms are grouped in quantities of 4 and there are several of them. Most all have a hill side (may require you to walk uphill and some stairs). I was at the farthest building and It wasn't easy and I hike all the time. A shuttle is available. Room's are very nice. Local feral cats will be your best friends if you buy them cat food at the local grocery store (walking distance away). The entire island is a bit more expensive and Carmichael's on the top of the resort is pretty salty for what you get. So......if you're thinking the resort and local currency will find you some sweet dinner deals you are in for a surprise. Sugar Ridge has a rental car facility on property. There are also a few restaurants about a 12 min walk away that you must check out as the resort is nice but you are on vacation and want to get away. I would suggest walking to Jolly Harbour and dining at Basillico's for lunch, Miracles for dinner w a big appetite (lobster dishes are huge) and pizza at Akropolis. The grill at West Beach is perfect to grab a burger and fries after a day on sunning and a few beers.
