We love the Belmond collection. The Belmond Grand Hotel Europe of St. Petersburg did not disappoint. It was in a great location. The room was spacious and clean. They also have butler service. There are some great restaurants on the premise with a great cocktail bar and awesome breakfast buffet.

One of the grandest hotels I have ever had the pleasure to stay in. The Belmond Grand Hotel Europe is ideally situated to experience all of the major sites in St Petersburg. The concierge service was second to none and happily attended to all of our requests and enquiries. Last minutes tickets to the Mariinsky Ballet were even sourced for us.

Everything worked pretty well during my short stay: great location, great room, good breakfast, very nice decorations. The room was very quiet and the temperature just right (indoors in Russia tend to be overheated). Shame the mattress was way too hard and I tossed and turned the whole night. I was a bit disappointed by the front office staff: I was asked to pay at check in and I said I would settle with cash after going to my room. That is what I did after about 30 minutes with one other employee. Later that afternoon, when I was in the lobby waiting for people, I was asked by the employee that checked me in, when I was thinking to pay for the room. Now, before addressing a client like that, you should really check if the bill has been paid, shouldn't you (in a ***** hotel)?

Situated so conveniently for all the expected destinations - Hermitage, cathedrals, museums and theatres - Belmond Grand has to be the place to stay in St Petersburg. A warm welcome from the doorkeepers, through the reception desk and concierge makes you feel wanted! Nothing seems to be too much trouble. Organising tickets for the Mariinski Theatre, no problem. Breakfast served in the stunning Europe restaurant was an experience in itself - with wonderfully attentive staff. It may not be the cheapest hotel in the city (!) but was, without doubt, one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Do not hesitate to book it.

I really enjoyed this hotel. There were some dignitaries there constantly so alot of security folks were always present. The service was top notch as well. The breakfast was amazing and was downstairs in buffet style. Decor is elegant and beautiful. You really can't go wrong with this hotel.
