The State Hermitage Museum Official Hotel in Saint Petersburg, Russia

There’s a major perk for staying at The State Hermitage Museum Official Hotel: Guests get free transfer and pre-booked tickets for The Hermitage, bypassing an often two-hour line at Russia’s greatest museum. The other perk is the royal treatment you’ll receive at this brand new hotel. Modeled after the Winter Palace portion of The Hermitage, where Russian monarchs resided until the Bolshevik revolution, there is no shortage of decadent details. Rooms feature handmade furniture by Florentine woodwork master Savio Firmino and bathrooms made from Greek and Italian marble. Downstairs, pick up a Fabergé-designed brooch at the hotel’s diamond boutique.

Wake up in the heart of Dostoyevsky’s neighborhood and explore the streets where many of his novels take place. Stop by the museum at the author’s house. Catch an afternoon shuttle to The Hermitage and immerse yourself in the three million items on display, from Egyptian antiquities to post-Impressionist art. Return to the hotel for a plate of salmon and sturgeon caviar with wheat crêpes and farm-made sour cream at a restaurant named after Catherine the Great.

This is a fab hotel right next to Rubinstein Street where many of the best bars and restaurants are. The hotel is finished in the same style as the winter palace and although clearly modern inside, it all really works. The staff are very helpful, the rooms get turned out again in the evening which is great and there is free WiFi. The main attractions such as the Winter Palace are around 30 minute walk but you can also use the hotel's free shuttle. We did not eat breakfast but had dinner at the Catherine the Great restaurant and the food there was amazing. The only slight minuses are the fact that the main tourist attractions are around a mile away which when it is snowing, it can be an issue and we had a junior suite, with the lounge bit behind a big post, which did not really work as a suite but we still liked the room. Would stay again.

This place is huge on a whole new level. Each new room reveals itself with new flavours of sumptuousness and the chandeliers are impressive enough before you even notice the art, which is arranged helpfully by nation/movement. Expect to be overwhelmed with awe-inspiring discoveries in every room. Allow a full day with plenty of sit-downs.

We stayed her on our recent trip to St. Petersburg for 3 nights. Lobby is lovely and rooms are very nice although shower is a bit awkward and difficult to avoid getting water all over the floor. Staff at desk are very courteous and helpful. Food is pricey but very good. My only complaint is that they charge ~ US $30 to use the swimming pool. A bit out of the way so plan on using a cab to get back and forth from Nevsky Prospekt. I would stay here again and recommend this property.

The hotel was gorgeous, incredibly beautiful and well done. The staff were immaculate and very helpful and friendly-nothing was a chore. We stayed in a junior suite which was lavish and excellent value. We also visited the spa which was good fun. Excellent hotel and we came away very happy
