Check-in was surprisingly efficient with no delays (after our 8-hour flight from London. Shown to our suite and given a walk thru, explaining how everything worked. Kitchen was great with full size fridge and cooker. Bathroom huge with separate walk-in shower. Room great size with nice separate seating and dining area opening onto a garden view balcony. Customer service throughout was exemplary - daily cleaning service, restaurant and bars (especially the staff overseeing breakfast), front desk and concierge when needed,and most obvious was every staff encountered, when walking thru the grounds, acknowledged us with a hello and smile, wishing us a nice stay - everyone. We had one issue our first morning when our toilet would not flush properly. Called reception and was advised it would be looked at while we were out. Came back and ‘seemed’ to be resolved. Next morning, same thing so stopped at reception on our way to breakfast, explained again the situation and advised the same thing. Day 3 same issue so when calling reception we ‘suggested’ that if it wasn’t resolved to our satisfaction, we’d need to change rooms. Told a maintenance employee would take care of it that morning. From our conversation with maintenance in the room, we were told it couldn’t be repaired and we actually needed a new toilet to be installed within the hour. We left, came back after lunch to operation completed. Something like this should not take 3 days when a guest issue can be easily remedied. The resort truly is lovely but in need of some light updating. The showers are not at a temperature of US and UK standards, but we accepted the coolness as an island trait that a lukewarm shower each morning was fine. Would we come back; most definitely. Beautiful holiday, great customer service…thank you very much.

The Crane, set against the picturesque backdrop of Barbados' azure waters, holds a promise of a serene getaway with its stunning views and potential for a perfect vacation. The property, with its well-appointed rooms and inviting ambiance, beckons travelers for a memorable stay. However, it's disheartening to report that the experience is marred by the less-than-welcoming attitude of the front desk staff. Their unfriendly demeanor and unprofessional conduct stand in stark contrast to the warmth that one would expect from such a reputed establishment. This aspect of service unfortunately casts a shadow over the entire stay, turning what could be an idyllic retreat into a series of unpleasant encounters. While The Crane harbors the potential to be a top-tier destination in Barbados, it is imperative that the management addresses the service issues at the front desk to ensure that guests' experiences align with the high standards that the property's setting and facilities suggest.

Four Stars seems appropriate. Some things very good but the property would benefit from some updating. Prior to arriving, the reviews we read were somewhat concerning. Seems like we were there at the end of the busy season, so it was not very crowded. Staff and Service were consistently very good. No long waits as some reviews described. We ate at Bar 1887, L'Azure, Carriage House, Zen and Le Shack (short walk). All very good with Zen being the standout for us. The Beach BBQ could use some improvement - most things were over cooked. The room was clean and comfortable with a spectacular view and a plunge pool. The bed was high, would not recommend for anyone with a mobility issue. Bottom line: we relaxed and re-energized which is what we needed.

the grounds at this resort are absolutely fabulous. It feels like you are walking through a jungle. We had a garden pool and we enjoyed it everyday. Actually that is where we spent most of our days. The privacy was wonderful and the pool water was warm. The beach was disappointing after the second day because the seaweed was so bad. I think the Crane could do a better job of cleaning the seaweed off the beach on a daily basis. There was actually so much seaweed in the water that we quit going in. The restaurants are all good. The Zen is very expensive. The breakfast at L'Azure was fabulous because of the view. If you order off the menu, it is much cheaper than the buffet. As far as the Italian restaurant the portions are very small. Hubby was still hungry after he ate his dinner. We went to the beach party on Tuesday night and really enjoyed the entertainment. I thought the price for that was too much even though the food was okay. Most of the employees were very helpful especially when trying to find out way around. Shakeem walked us all the way to the beach the first time we tried to find it. The Boss Man at the Beach Cafe was very friendly and good at his job. Sonia at L'Azure was especially kind and caring. The girls at the concierge desk were not friendly or helpful at all. We did a 360 tour through the Crane with Corey Agard from Flamboyant Tours. He did a great job showing us the island. He was very knowledgeable and made our day fun. I would highly recommend him. Our condo unit was so hot on the first night even though we put the thermostat down as low as it would go. Called maintenance the next morning. Evidently, the thermostats don't work. The AC is run by the remotes. They should have a sign to this effect up in the room somewhere and take the thermostats off the walls. I notice the reviews are all over the place for this resort. You have to take the good with the bad and in my opinion the good far outweighs the bad in this resort.. We probably won't go back. We seldom do do-overs.

I love this resort! What a paradise and great getaway. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was so cozy and clean. I really loved the breakfast buffet. If we go back to Barbados down the road we will definitely be going back to The Crane.
